your match report gives me a little bit more solace spider, i thought the serbs might have done better, which leads me to my first point.
If Serbia cannot plaug that gap between Russia and the other 2nd teir nations who can?
Because as I have said time and again Russia is going nowhere

Well looks like Serbia is on the improve. I wish I was there to have seen it first hand.
Be interesting to see where the Lebanon squad is at considering its mainly locals.
Is it possible that Russia is not as bad as we all think, maybe they have had a quiet year, the WC qualifers took a bit out of them etc... I think really a few games a year is waht is needed for these teams... even say a friendly game against a tier one team like wlaes or scotland could at least show the countries wheat they need to do.
I think in general the IRL structure needs and overhaul.

Is it possible that Russia is not as bad as we all think, maybe they have had a quiet year, the WC qualifers took a bit out of them etc. That would be the most worrying thing of all for me, at the end of the day if 4 qualifying games slap bang in the middle of their season took too much outta them they might as well pack up home, not to mention the Challenge cup .. I think really a few games a year is waht is needed for these teams... even say a friendly game against a tier one team like wlaes or scotland I agree, they should be playing more against these guys, but they already have this last couple of years I think in general the IRL structure needs and overhaul. go on.........................

Few words about Russians: Comparing with their two years ago display, this one was stronger, faster and technically much better. I don't know whose influence is that, but they keep trying to play with the ball, even in the first two-three tackles. Passes are more accurate, defensive line is very fast, they quickly overcome 10 meters gap and few times we had wasted two or three drives just in the same point because of that. I don't have to mention that tackles are hard and everything was fired during the both our and their tackles. Of course, if they are so good they would be in the RLWC, but I don't want to uncover their weaknesses, not until the end of the tournament.

Sure you can. The photographer is our good friend and former player also, so he knows what to shoot. He is professional, working for newspapers, and when you see that good pictures come from Serbian Rugby League hosted events, be sure that's him (Georgia, Russia matches from RLWC qualifiers, U16 Euro Nations Cup last year, HQ Serbian national competition photos, etc.).
I was not diplomatic. No matter I would maybe wish Lebanon to win in Moscow, so we could have a chance to win in Beirut and become the winners of the competition, let Lebanese management find out the easiest way to fight the Russians.

Very interesting that Spider rates the Russians as better than they were 2 years ago.

Well, it's true. I forgot to mention the way how Russia led 6-0. We missed the penalty kick, and referee instead of sign 20-meter drop out, he awarded tap on 20 meters for Russia. Our players who took positions like the Russians will kick on them were very surprised when Russia started to play and progress easily through the gaps. When we stabilized they were very close and scored when passed the ball wide after 4th tackle. So, tomorrow at 15.00 (Moscow time)=13.00 (Central European time)=12.00 (UK time) Russia v Lebanon kicks off. I think that there will be text transmission of the game (points) on Russian Rugby League Federation web-site, link: rrlf.ru/on_line and probably page 2. There is Google translation option, but don't surprise when you see the words like "attempt" instead of "try" and "implementation" instead of "conversion".

Russia 76, Lebanon 0 That's the score we got from Dino Vikas, who is involved in Serbian team coaching and resides in Moscow.

Any word on the crowd for the Russia V Lebanon game?
I heard they were expecting "a big crowd", not sure what a big crowd is considered in Russia, 5000?
