no, me neither, his last stint in England ended in disaster but IIRC he was playing RU in the off season and came straight into RL with no off season.

didnt notice but at the bottom of the article it states they have signed Nick Youngquest and Kris Kahler.
Thats a good lump of Pia's team gone there, if those players go before for the LER playoffs it could be tough work for Pia

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!! www.totalrl.com/index.php?showtopic=162502&pid=1677604&st=0entry1677604Following the cup match against UTC on the 4th of Jan, 3 officials from St Gaudens took issue with the referee and entered his dressing room to remostrate with him. Fernand Soubie, the honorary club president has been suspended by the FFR13 for 2 years. Jean-Alain Rives, under-manager of The Bears company that runs the pro club, suspended 7 months. Antoine Rouge, chairman of the St Gaudens XIII sporting association suspended 1 month. Fernand Soubie said: "I had to get to 79 years of age before getting my first suspension, isn't that great!? I've been involved in RL for 50 years and I think I'm still more than capable of judging things for myself. I was 35 years president of the Federation and 15 years manager of the National team> I only wish that those who've punished me would do as much as me for the sport. On that day the referee was, in all sincerity, beneath everything. The Federation asked me for an explanation so I wrote to say that in order to gain respect one must first respect others. I have no regrets." Antoine Rouge said: "All I did was ask my players to leave the field because the referee was dishonest. There's nothing we can say but, when they find there are no more volunteers and there's no more RL at St Gaudens, they'll have to sort things out for themselves. Maybe that's what they're after, and they'll play with 4 or 5 clubs!"

Round 17 of the LER 1
Lyon vs. Villeneuve
Lezignan vs. UTC
Carpentras vs. St. Gaudens
Limoux vs. Avignion
Pia vs. Carcassone
So the next round is this weekend. Its starting to get to the Business end of the season with only four regular rounds left inclusive of this weekend. Teams are now starting to jostle for the top 8 and to make the play off rounds. My picks have been highlighted, and are basically going on form.
Lyon will get beat again unfortunately but it wont be a blow out I dont think... I hope they keep plugging away, the laws of statistics say they will come good.... one day.
Lezignan have been the disapointments this year for me... they have not managed to carry on the form from last year and despite this weeks win I think will not be able to beat UTC.
Carpentras will be too good for St Gaudens who are also languishing at the bottom. Its good to see carpentras doing well and giving the top of the table a truly french feel to it.
Limoux... will paste Avignion.
Most would say that Carcassone beating the Dragons reserve team would be an upset... not I as Carcassone have shown this season that they can match it with the best with good wins againt UTC and Limoux. Thei first match agains Pia was a tight 36-22 afair and will be out to get revenge... match of the round for mine... that is if the weather holds!
