Elima out Julien Touxagas called in. Cyril Stacul has a broken hand so Freddie Vaccari replaces him. William Barthau will be running as 18th man. Team party has moved up from Toulouse to Paris overnight.
Sportsmad I'm afraid to say the French probably wont get much change out of 40 points but I just want to see a competetive first half and some heart out of the boys.

Why is this?
France seem to have gone a bit backwards since a few years ago?.
I remember not so long ago they were very competitive getting close to Australia and New Zealand.

How many is that out now? 5 I can count that would be there otherwise.

Yes mate 5 out Pelo,Fakir,Elima,Ferriol and Stacul. 5 of France top line players out. We talk about the continued progress of France and its great to see them with a little depth about them these days, particuarly in the forwards, but when you take out players the quality of Ferriol, Fakir and Elima it would hurt any side.

Why is this? France seem to have gone a bit backwards since a few years ago?. I remember not so long ago they were very competitive getting close to Australia and New Zealand. Without taking away from the French sides effort in those games the Aus game was after they have played through a tough NRL season, a tough tri nations and then played a tagged on freindly against France. As I say no disrespect to France but its the game of their lives and another game Aus did not need. As for the NZ game it came off the back of a poor NZ tour to the UK. IMO France will never have had a better chance of putting NZ away. They havent beaten England at full level for nearly 15 years and are still a long way off competetive. At the end of the day about half of the French squad are not playing at even SL level, so I feel it will be very tough for them, England also have a few doubters so I think they will be looking to comforatbly put France away. Overall I hope I'm wrong, Im an Englishman but I have always loved French RL as anyone here will tell you. I think a France win in this game wil give them immense confidence going into the 2nd half of the season for Catalans and Toulouse and also for the national side in the 4N, chances of it happening? slim to none.

Add Raguin to the list Marv Looking at that side though, I would still rate it better than last years with 6 quality players injured. The Full time players at Toulouse are certainly helping that situation. The fact that they also have a centre pairing that is in form is also great. Lucky for them they have lost most of the quality in the forwards where thyey have decent cover, to lose another back would be disaster. Great to see Barthau in the shortened side, I read elsewhere that it will either be him or Touxagas and it wasn't decided yet? any truth to that? If so I would love to see him get a run. I've heard massive raps on the bloke (i was about to call him kid before i realised he was older than me ) hope if he does get a brief spell he goes well, would do wonders for his confidence.

Toulouse have supplied 4 players to the side and without them those guys would be in the LER, good point about the forwards but for me to lose Ferriol and Fakir means you lose the impact their replacements would have had on the side when they are interchnaged. e.g Guisset might be asked to do more than 40mins and that will be tough for him Great to see Barthau in the shortened side, I read elsewhere that it will either be him or Touxagas and it wasn't decided yet? any truth to that? I think it would be unlikely that Barthau gets in this time, I also hear he has been impressive but at the end of the day he hasnt played SL and he is still a young guy. Sorry to be pessemistic but on the other side of the coin if he has a shocker he could lose confidence and dissapear forever. Bobbie has to look at the short term and the next 80 mins are as crucial for France, and Bobbie as any at the WC.

hmmm well it will be interesting to see how he goes now. Hopefully he handles it, if he has a good one off the bench hopefully it will put him ahead of Perry in the pecking order at Catalans ;D.

So anyone in Warsaw tonight?
If you want to catch the match, then I will be at BAR BELOW on the corner of Marszalkowska and Wilcza on the Novotel hotel side.
I have managed to conn the owner there to show the game at 21:00 and so come along. Best way to get there is the 4, 18, 35 and 36 trams to Pl. Konstytuji and its about 50 m down from the tram stop on Marszalkowska.
Hope to see someone there!

I'm quite worried. France were well beaten this morning and they're going to be in the 4 nations later this year. Their performances ever since running us close have been disappointing.

yeah it was a bad result. perhaps france are one year too early in the four nations. the question of whether fiji actually should have been the fourth entrant is now warranted. i hate to be the dommsdayist. i have faith that the french team will progress quite well, but not sure if that will come quick enough.
in other news celtic crusaders won!!! + got a great crowd for them!! there are plenty of peopel saying that this club is a massive failure but any club that isnt winning games struggles for crowds and right now everything is against them.

I am more frustrated than worried, although I am worried. Frustrated that a decent team on paper with some great players can produce that absolute rubbish consisently. A full strength side would help but sweet jesus the way they played tonight they looked like a Championship 2 side. If they could play to their best they won't be embarresed in the 4N, problem is in the WC and this game they have severly under performed and I can't work out why
