Well, my Nana is from Newcastle so I do have a soft spot for them, but I know what you mean about the fans, I feel they have too much of a voice at the club.
As for rl tapping into this ................................ not a chance, Newcastle is soccer through & through.
I guess you are right but thunder got a tidy crowd of 4k against saints and you have to say the vast majority of that would be travelling fans but I feel they have a core of diehards and there is a number of people who would watch a more succesful north east side.
