Agree Jim, I think at least one more year in Cardiff would have been better. But I sort of can understand why they have done it too. So this is my take on everything so far.
CONS * Edinbrough is notorious for bad weather, after 8 games through a weekend imagine what that pitch will be like on the last day. * Very exposed stadium, Cardiff had the roof if there was any bad weather. * AFAIK Murrayfield is far away from the city centre so being able to just pop out for a beer and food while your team is not playing is not very good, Millenium is at least in the city centre... sort off. * I can't see the Scots getting excited about it. If there are locals anywhere that are ignorant to the sport its up there and it won't change. In Wales you had celtic and at least people knew of the sport.
PROS * Money! That's obvious. For this to happen the Edinbrough council must have thrown a sdhit load at RFL for this. * Potentially better promotion from the council and hopefully they will have the hotels not hike their prioces up. * Closer to the M62, easier to get to (our english friends can correct me on this).
As always I hope that I am proved wrong on my cons and its a resounding success, but as far as I am concerned its basically back to square 1 with the concept.
One other way to save this thing is also to have it as a yearly road show. Have different venues bid for it each year, this way you may get it in say Paris, Dublin, London, Newcastle back to Cardiff, have the ESL/RFL in the next month also announce who will have it for 2010 and 2011 so people can start saving and planning now.
This can either be a brilliant move by the RFL or another Rugby League "bang your head agaiosnt the wall" moment.

RU is not even that popular in Scotland though.
I hope Murrayfield Magic is a sucess. Do people think it will get crowds as good as millenium?
I don't minbd the move but I would have liked to see it in a few years not now. Celtic playing the main event game at millenium would have been big. I would say 40k+ would have packed the stadium for a Celtic game there.
I hope the move is backed up by a promotoin of a scottish club to NL before too long.

Edinbrough council will get off their butts and catually do something to support it, there probably will be minimum interference from the SRU. The Scots are always looking to get their tourism up. You will probably get more fans from the heartlands travelling as its easier and closer to get to, but the litmus test will be how many locals will go. Not sure how big Murrayfield is but its got to be as big as Millenium or more.

Murrayfield is 70k i think so a few less than millenium but since I don't see it selling out i don't think it matters too much.

Judging by Boots n All tonight not many people are that pleased with the change. I can understand that the RFL want to take RL to new places, expand the game and hit areas that are outside of the heartland, but Cardiff is unbelievable and I for one will miss it.

Evo mate here is a clue $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (replace with pound signs) I have seen nothing but positive responses from a few of the forums, everone reckons that Edinbrough is more tourist friendsly the stadium is better id the rain hold off and hotels won't be hicking the prices up and the city is a beetr place to visit. I am not against the idea of them moving it but I do think it should have been in Cardiff for at least one more year. But maybe they will make this into a raod event and each year different cityes can bid to host it. On rleague forum Briminsham and Villa Park ahve been touted as a possible venue!

Well jim and all that wanted a scottish team in the top tier...
you have it.
I can confirm to you all that scotland will have a glasgow based team in the NL's next year, probably NL2. This was confirmed by John Riesmanon the weekend in Latvia and he said its fine to get it out in the open now, officially it will be announced later in the week I think.

I didn't think it would be so soon and I wasn't thinking Glasgow. I'm realistic in thinking that they will not be in SL in 3 years like Celtic but to have a semi-pro team in scotland will be great for the game in scotland. The best scottish domestic players can play for them aswell as maybe a few of their overseas internationals if they get to NL1. Maybe Peter Wallace - Just joking
