I just read that the game in Barcelona has sold over 10,000 tickets and they are aiming for 20,000. If this is true then it has certainly exceded my expectations.
If they can get 15,000+ then I would expect alot of people to take notice of Barca, the RFL for one. It could very well get the ball rolling on a team from Barcelona being included in either Elite or Championship IMO. FCB have expressed interest before and i think a crowd of 15,000+ will make alot of people take notice.

Wolves 24 - 12 Catalans
Crowd was 18,150, fantastic crowd. 12,000 french fans, 2,000 Warrington fans so about 4,000 locals I assume.
The very least that should come of this is anoth next year, I would like to see 2 but that would be taking games away from the Perpignan public. I think 18k for one game sits very well on their resume for a Magic Weekend. Also the amount of locals in the crowd and their 9 team first year domestic comps is looks good for a Championship 1 or Elite side.

There is no doubt this has gotta happen next year, not sure of the immediate future of Luis Companys stadium I think they are knocking it down sometime, but there are lots of other options.

They don't even get that to their home games in France. I can't see more fans traveling all the way to Barcelona then going down to.

apparantly 1/3 were locals. if warrington take their home game against catalans there aswell then two games could be achieved without taking games away from perpignan.

The fans who I have seen interviewed and the Perpignan mayor suggested this was their "magic Weekend" People from Perpignan are of course Catalans and they, and other people made the journey from French Catalonia to enjoy the weekend in the Catalonian Capital. Also, they couldnt get 12k for their home games, the ground only holds 10k! I can see why you would be sceptical, but it does make sense, and its entirely possible.

So the season boils down to this, If Bradford win tonight against Hull then the dragons are out of the top 8.
COME ON YOU HULL!
