this is good news. though i still dont know where they are going to put their members if they reach a decent number. im a member of the roosters and know that they have plenty of great seats available. the stagnation of brookie is holding the sea eagles back tremendously. how can they expect to compete with ANZ stadium, suncorp stadium , SFS, para etc with a run down oval. this is the NRL; the best rugby comp of either code in the world. brookie is a disgrace. charm and nostalgia can only go so far. modernity is integral to the future of this club.

I think push will come to shove and they will do that and play the majority of there games at the SFS and maybe 4 at Brookie against rivals (Wests, Parra, Sharks and Newcastle).
But it seriously wouldn't surprise me if ticketed members are around the 7500 mark next year.

EVERGREEN Seabirds instructor Monique Carroll has picked a squad of beauties for 2010, and has promised ``quite a show’’ at Brookvale Oval this year.
``We have assembled a number of fresh faces, aged between 18 and 28, who love performing,’’ she said.
``The majority are studying at university, and one of the girls is a nuclear scientist.
``We have been working hard on our routines and can’t wait to perform in front of a big crowd.’’
Peninsula fans will have to wait a while to see the girls in the flesh, with the first home game against the Cronulla Sharks not until mid-April thanks to the ongoing developments at Brookie.
Bolded part just for you Dan. Maybe a reason to cheer for Manly, or atleast the cheerleaders ;D

Sad day for the Manly faithful Max Whitehead (Manly's first captain) died today.
He was otherwise known as the Chesty Bond character.

Yes!!!! Tommorow's D-day with the Travelling Supportah's is so close to arriving. Sunday will be my first NRL match of the year (hopefully get a few more in this season.)
For those of you with facebook (which I suspect is everyone) and I'm friends with photo's will be up on Tuesday. Be warned though it'll be promiently Manly ones but am hoping to get photo'ed with Stacey Jones (meeting him in the Mad Butcher's lounge), Awen Guttenbiel, the Mad Butcher himself, and if Jake the Muss (Ruben Wiki) comes over to the Manly bit him as well (don't like my chances)

Many of you would have heard us on during the game. Chanting caring on, not many would know that this is what was like for all four days.
This was the run down of it.
Day 1 (Good Friday) - got into Auckland at around 3, caught up with some mates and straight into the beer. Day 2 - Over to Whaeke Island and met the mad butcher whilst walking through Onehra looking for a Pub (surprising isn't it) that bloke LOVES his league. Spent the night drinking with about 40 Manly supporters at O'Hagens and basically took over it. Day 3 - Game day, first up to the Butcher's lounge got a spray from him and watched the Manly U20's belt the Junior Warriors, Manly went onto win controversly over the Warriors in the NRL. Went onto the function meet the players and Lowie (Dan - he will be doing his best to help out the Kiwi's with re-establishing our supporter base over there). Also meet Costo and Chook Halligan the night of the game. Day 4 - Over to Devonport for a meal and a beer and then the flight back to Brissie.
For those of you who think I'm the only Manly supporter there is interested in the International game a few that are really interested in MWTS.

Manly Eagles eye Papua New Guinea blockbuster
The Daily Telegraph - May 12, 2010
MANLY are looking to become the first NRL club to host a game in Papua New Guinea, with Sea Eagles boss Graham Lowe jetting to Port Moresby today to open discussions.
Lowe has been in discussions with a corporate player as well as NRL officials about the plan.
Given PNG is desperate to push its bid for NRL inclusion, it's believed Manly could earn upwards of $300,000 to shift one of two home games the club is permitted to play away from Brookvale Oval each season.
The Sea Eagles are believed to be close to striking a deal to be part of next year's Suncorp Stadium double-header, while a game against the Warriors to coincide with April's V8 Supercars round in Hamilton is also under investigation. Lowe was tight-lipped ahead of his departure, but promised to tell fans more when he returns on Friday.

Yeah... be interesting... god news that clubs want to forge ties.
But still I would not want a PNG NRL team.

Personnelly I really don't think it'll happen. Maybe a coaching clinic.
The other two options are more than likely to happen though. New Zealand - Most of the guy's loved it and are itching to do it again. Brisbane (Double Header) - Is also another popular option.

Maybe... but I think a game there would be good. I guess the issue would be who would they get as their opposition... would any other NRL club be willing to make the trip to Port Moresby?
