Maybe not a NRL club but maybe a Qld Cup side  well wynnum - manly is the local... That is enough for me. OK so who wants to have a beer at the Brikdale pub tonight? I meant one torwards our end but if push came to shove for another Q Cup team the Wide Bay deffinetly should get one. Maybe a beer on Saturday ;D |

There is only one, Finigan's Chin. No others in the area... unless you head up to the Wello Point Tavern or down to the Old Grandview in Cleveland. |

Grandy is nice. Sometimes weve been there and the food has been worth the cost, but sometimes its total shit. Sands is OK for a beer too. The Wello is good for a reasonably priced meal. Theres also the Icon bar down at cleveland and Elysium, but thats at viccy point.
That finnigans chin looks like such a dive from the outside, they should buy a few tins of paint.

Grandy is nice. Sometimes weve been there and the food has been worth the cost, but sometimes its total shit. I never have felt its value for money, its nice but not worth what you pay for I feel... but its great to sit outside looking over the water with a cold beer. Never been a fan of the Sands for some reason... maybe because of the few times I have been there is been full of w4nkers that are only looking for trouble. Havent eaten at the Wello, but enjoy a beer there on occasion, the bar right down on the point is good as well. Go for a swim and then grab a beer and head back out for a swim. I go collecting pippies around there often and bbq them up too. Haven't done either of those Its very basic... it in what used to be an ANZ bank years and years ago. They do some decent meals there, but its just a room, with a pool table bar and TV's very basic but it serves the purpose alright and I never have seen any idiots in there. Though the Alex avoid at all costs. |

Elysuim is filled with 18 year old try hards.
Vicky Point tavern is okay for a meal
I was waiting for someone to mention the Alex but can probably think of one pub that's worse then it the Koala Tavern at Capalaba.
The last time I ate at the Sands the meals there were pretty good
BTW Supersteve I'm not sure if your aware of the forum meet at Wynnum Manly 1st game of the Q Cup season?

The vic point tavern makes awesome ribs. Try them and youll never have anything else there.
I go to Elysium sometimes before a movie or something with the misso every now and then and Ive always found it to be pretty good. I guess late at nights itd probbaly attract its fair share of dicks, but you get that in most places later on.
Druzik your right the sands is full of wankers of an arvo, tradies mostly, but its usually ok just for a beer or tow in the garden out back. the restaurant part was totally re-done a little while back and apparently it is good enough food. The wankers dont go into the restuarant.
The wello is definately worth a try for food. Dont get me wrong its just good pub food, but its not as expensive as the grandy.
The alex....well we pretty much have all gone there at various stages of our lives. I havent been there for at least five years though and would never do it ever again. Regardless of that poor kid that got killed there, its a shithole that attracts shitheads.
IMO they should have closed it down after that stabbing. Also the cleveland tavern use to be ok years ago. Use to be dicey rileys.
The koala is full of bogans...but what do you expect in capalaba lol. I will sayn one thing for it, my mate and I went to some great screaming jets concerts there 8 years ago lol.
When is the first round of the QRL arh?

Yeah... dont know what the Alex is good for... I guess it keeps the "Hobbits" out of all the other decent establishments... drove past there the other day and saw a very, very rough looking... I think it was a woman ... carrying a case of Bundy and cokes.
Koala has improved a little, if you can get it at the beginning of the week after about 8pm its usually pretty good, not too many people and the ones there are OK.
There is the Capalaba Tavern out where you come into Capalaba that is rough as guts too... I think its a bit of a bikie hang out.

What do you guy's think of the Titans and Broncos deciding to make the Warriors play in there black jerseys when they play in Qld in the middle of the day.
Me, I think it's a dog act. Hopefully Warriors remeber this for next season if they get them at home next season during June and July and give the 'away' sheds a hose down with ice water
