I don't want to get into a conspiracy here but maybe Samuels wasn't prepared to fund the team for 3 more years unless they were in Sl and the RFL knew it. that's all i'll say on that. We shouldnt have to make the best of it jim It should be right before its entered into a premier competition. I dont know mate though, We have to see who they have lined up for next year, myself I would play the lad kear on the wing, with a better FB, then he could learn a little more out there like many players do? I would give white a spot too if the had someone else of good quality to play alongside him. Gotta say Flower has been great IMO, good to see Geriant Davies getting in albeit because of injuries but he is a welsh born player who has been with the club since day one. Yeh that would be just as good i suppose, alot of young fullbacks start on the wing, has to be better long term than dyer or blackwood. They need to sign atleast one centre to replace Dalle Court and Hannay that's for sure. OK so that makes it a decent fullback, centre, five-eight and hooker they need. That should be easy  . |

I was going to say a halfback they need. Matthew Head is playing in the NSW Cup, Liam Foran is also playing for Newtown so there would be couple of handy halves

I was going to say a halfback they need. Matthew Head is playing in the NSW Cup, Liam Foran is also playing for Newtown so there would be couple of handy halves White should be starting at Halfback next year IMO, Although you mention Head who I always liked as a player. He would do a much better job joining White in the halves than Van Dijk. |

Maybe mate I dont know, but I do know they werent ready, on the pitch, off it all over the show, and incompetent management from the club and sports governing body makes the whole scene look poor and amateurish. Elliot Kear has signed on as a pro for next season  , well done to the lad, now Lloyd White needs to be the next, I would love to see those 2 along with Ben Flower all occupy starting spots next year. I would also like to see Lewis Mills and Ashley Batemen promoted to the top squad. |

BARNSTORMING Bulldogs winger Matt Utai is expected to join the NRL exodus with a Super League move to be announced today.
One of the most destructive dummy-half runner in the game, Utai is all but a done deal with the Wales-based Celtic Crusaders and will leave the Kennel after spending most of the year in the NSW Cup.
Utai recently returned from Samoa where he farewelled family members who lost their lives in the tsunami.

Personally, I think CC were admitted into SL too early - they were very much 'fast tracked'. I am a big fan of building solid foundations at a club and creating a bit of history. There are no solid foundations at CC. They should have been allowed to grow and mature in the National Leagues for another 3 years and see where they are at the end of that. That would then allow the club to bring through young, Welsh players without the added pressure of SL rugby.
I think the RFL fooked up royaly on this one but hopefully a move to Newport will change their fortunes.

Seems to be a big mess going on in Wales with rumours of Samuels pulling out of the club and a move to Wrexham in North Wales. Rumour is an announcment will be made shortly by the club. Really would be a shame if Crusaders went tis up, it isn't looking good at all. I was looking forward to watching them move to Newport and see how Noble would go with the team with hopefully a handful of welsh youngsters. Now it's up in the air as to where they'll even play it seems.  |

Looks like they might not be the only team in Wales from next season, this was in Tuesday's Independent. Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum...
"The Rugby League is due to announce tomorrow that the game's main presence in South Wales will be at Neath when the Crusaders relocate to Wrexham for next season. A new club in Championship 1 at The Gnoll will provide some continuity in the Valleys. The former Celtic Crusaders are also likely to play some home games in Newport."
I'm assuming Neath RLFC will be linked with the union team seeing as they are sharing their ground?
