A bit harsh mate. The club has been run in an embarrassingly amateurish manner during the past few seasons (when the infringements causing today's disastrous news happened) but that doesn't mean that it won't change next season. I live in hope that next season we bring in a whole load of quality players and backroom staff, and get fully professional off the field which is frankly worse than the on-field results (trust me, I'm a season ticket holder!).

If the clubs been poorly run over the last few seasons then they shouldnt have been admitted to the competition, they have been admitted because the RFL felt it was time and they are being made to look fools.
They were admitted with a squad of players not up to the task, few home grown players and a stadium I wouldnt let my dog live in.
If they are to survive they need all those things you mention in your post, but It seems wishful thinking to me.

cheers I've read these forums for some time but is my first post. I've got a season ticket but won't be renewing it next year, I'm not even confident that there'll be a club in a years time let alone if we'll still be in SL. So yes, it is wishful thinking, but that's pretty much all the RL fans in Wales have to go on at the moment.

Its a sad affair for the Celtic fans who have been let down many times in the past. Wales must have a rugby league club to develop weslh players, it would be ideal for that to be in SL but the club is obviously having alot of troubles.
At least they will be able to field more Welsh players for the remaining games.

This is where League seems to fall appart, it has fans that only jump on for a bit... they need that fans that will stick with them through good and bad times... Have faith!

What a monumental bungle this is. Poor management at its absolutle poorest. I feel sorry for the CC fans. I truly hope they can pick up some new players, hopefully better ones and continue on next season.

19 man squad for this week, 7 Welsh domestic products and 10 Welsh eligable players.
Kear, Tyrer, Chalk, Chan, Blackwood, White, Smith, O'Hara, Budworth, J. James, Flower, Bryant, Beasley, Tangata-Toa, Davies, Mills, Dudson, Bateman, Lennon.
OK so I don't know what position Kear, Dudson or Batemen play, can anybody fill me in?
This was one big screw up and hopefully the club can recover qucikly. Good to see alot of Welsh lads getting game time but probably not the best circumstances to make your debut or to be playing your first games of first grade.
Let's hope a few of these players can be mainstays next year and hope Celtic can do some quality recruiting because they really do need it, might have to look to English, French and perhaps even "minnow" european country clubs.

Yeah mate, Like Dan says dont give up I have been a Barrow Raiders fan for 20 years, when i was a kid we played against the worst in the league and got beat we had loads of out of town players and the crowds were less than 500, the club nearly went out of business.
Now we are top of the Championship looking at the playoffs and a grand final and we just got to our first domestic final in 26 years.
things done change.

Kear played FB and did ok I hear, Dudson is a prop who has already been capped by the national team. Wonder if bateman is related to Alan Bateman, former welsh player?

Look they should see it as a positive when they play some of these young welshmen instead of relying on Aussies and Kiwis proping them up. Look at 'Quins they have hardly any Southern Hemisphere players playing for them now and they are just outside the finals.

It is a huge positive for them but if they were in the Championship still they could easily have blooded some of this immense talent they claim to be producing with less spotlight on these young players, so allowing them to build a pool of Welsh players BEFORE they were admitted.

Maybe the RFL knew something we didn't in regards to the clubs backing, I'm not sure. Anyway they are there now so they just have to make the best of it, 2011 should be their equivalent to 2008 for Catalans. I'm not saying they'll come third but they will hopefully have a team full of established players and several Welshman. For 2010 they should be looking to buy a few quality players which I hear they are, expecting to make their first signing announcment soon. Also give atleast a few youngsters full-time starting spots. I would start with White at 7, Flower in the backrow and Kear the FB spot. They should be targeting a decent 6 and 9 for 2010.

We shouldnt have to make the best of it jim It should be right before its entered into a premier competition. I dont know mate though, We have to see who they have lined up for next year, myself I would play the lad kear on the wing, with a better FB, then he could learn a little more out there like many players do? I would give white a spot too if the had someone else of good quality to play alongside him. Gotta say Flower has been great IMO, good to see Geriant Davies getting in albeit because of injuries but he is a welsh born player who has been with the club since day one.
