As I understand it, round 3 will have the following teams chosen to play from two pools.
POOL A (two teams to be drawn first and placed in POOL B ) Barrow Batley Blackpool Dewsbury Doncaster Featherstone Gateshead Halifax Hunslet Keighley Leigh London Skolars Oldham Rochdale Sheffield Swinton Whitehaven Widnes Workington York
POOL B (plus two entrants drawn from Pool A) British Army Kells Leeds Met University Loughborough University Queens Pilkington Recs Saddleworth Sharlston Rovers Siddal Wath Brow Wigan St Pats
Lokomotiv Moscow Lezignan Limoux Pia Toulouse
with 18 winners from here plus the 14 SL teams in round 4, gives a 16 game round. Round 5 down to 8 games, then quarters, semis and Final.
All coming together nicely.

am not sure if its seeding as such but to have the Championship teams play the amateur and OS teams.
As I said its the way I have understoof the way people are talking about it... I could be wrong... but lets see tuesday when the draw is made.
Hey marve... fancy a Loco game?

So Pool A V Pool B this round?
Seems like a quick way to get rid of all the ametuer teams to me.
Anyway hope we see some upsets, and atleast a few Overseas teams get through. Hopefully the draw is kind to Loko and they don't end up with with Widnes, I hope they end up with a C1 team then they might have a chance of winning and what a boost for the Russian game that could turn out to be. Also hope to see a few Elite teams get through. Oh and Toulouse ofcourse.

Yes that is as I am understanding it, however with Pool A being a bit bigger two of their teams will get thrown into Pool B. Yes it does seem a bit ascew that the amateur teams will get hit up into the semi pro clubs, but on the flip side ... and Marv and others can correct me here ... we are now talking a bout the top conference teams who should at least be able to compete with the lower to mid range Championship 1 teams. Loko will be interesting to see where they come... I may do a trip up to see them play in March... Toulouse, being Championship should do OK I think, but they are being thrown in with the other 3 french teams... sooooo not sure what that says for the RFL beliefe in their abilities. But Lezignana and Pia, if the pull a Ch1 team should go through I think. Anyway, tomorrow we shall see hey!

Fpr what its worth heres my punts
Workington 20 v. 32 Lezignan
Leigh Centurians 60 v. 8 Locomotive Moscow
Sheffield Eagles 22 v. 18 Toulouse
Keighley Cougars 12 v. 30 Pia
Dewsbury Rams 34 v. 18 Carcasonne
Just my guess, I think the draw has been tough on the overseas teams, Dewsbury should be too strong for ASC, Toulouse will be close but I feel they will need more time to gel as a new unit. Pia should beat Keighley and Lezignan are dire this year so I think they could struggle but Im tipping them to win.
Sadly Leigh wil be too much for Loko I feel, but I will be at the game, I also fancy Dewsbury V Carcasonne and Keighley V Pia. So lets hope one of the games is saturday and one sunday!!
Blackpool dan?, should be easy really for Barrow, should have our eyes on a bigger SL team next round

So no French team has a home game? Is it just me or does that seem to happen all the time?
Agree with Marv it seems tough on the overseas team, I was hoping Loko in Particular could draw a weak Championship side.
Anyway for what it's worth
Siddal v. Swinton York City Knights v. Wigan St. Pats Featherstone v. The Army Queens v. Doncaster Pilkington Recs v Batley Bulldogs Barrow Raiders v. Blackpool Panthers Gateshead Thunder v. In the 3rd round I think all the frecnh teams are drawn away, and in the 4th round they can play at home, Harlequins played Pia at Pia a couple of years back Agree with Marv it seems tough on the overseas team, I was hoping Loko in Particular could draw a weak Championship side. Me too, I suggested Hunslet, would have been a far better game to see, either way I will be there I think

not yet, on the Leigh board on RLfans they say the game is likely to be a Saturday game, IIRC the Celtic V loko game was saturday and the Vereya game last year was on Sat
So heres hoping for a weekend of RL Leigh V Loko on Sat, Dewsbury V ASC on Sun

In the 3rd round I think all the frecnh teams are drawn away, and in the 4th round they can play at home, Harlequins played Pia at Pia a couple of years back OK, so maybe I'm being pedantic but the way the draw was done this round seems very unfair to the ametuer and overseas clubs. Why not just an open draw? Also I think the French away for Round 3 rule also supports my poitn above, what would it hurt to have a few games in France? Anyway enough opf my moaning, hopefully a few'll get through and I'll be happy. Me too, I suggested Hunslet, would have been a far better game to see, either way I will be there I think Yeh exactly, I know you won't agree with thbis but I think they could have evn beaten a weaker Championship side. OK so that's judging from their result against Celtic last year which is all I have to go on, I'm pretty sure Celtic pasted a few NL1 clubs, think what they could have done to a club like Hunslet. Anyway Lokomotiv 24-20 Leigh Seriously though I think Leigh will win by 20-40.
