There was a story in a New Zealand paper a few weeks back about a possible NZ v Samoa match to be played in Auckland in October.
Haven't heard anything since though.

That is encouraging news, hope it happens, will you go to this game Beez? It will most likely be in Auckland where there's a lot more Pacific Islanders. I'm down in Wellington so can't really afford it. I'm taking a month off work for the WC and then another 2 months to go to Asia straight after the WC.

Fair enuf.
I don;t think with you schedule we can really complain that your neglecting IRL.
I hope it gets televised and beamed into fox and shows the Aussies how seriously countries are taking this.
I am starting to wonder if one of these island teams may be the 4th team in.

I hope that goes ahead, who knows Fox may even get coverage of it, they televised NZ's tour last year so they might do the same for a NZ home game.
Also will be a good tester for this new-look samoan team packed with SL and NRL players.

On the RLWC08 site... lets help him out This is mainly for people in New Zealand who want to watch the game. Sky TV in NZ will try secure the rights for the match, if theres enough interest in it. So it will require quite afew emails. If theres demand they try to show. So just wondering if anyone could help out. Im dying to watch the match, it being world cup year. That would be awesome. Email- skytv@mailap.custhelp.com Or the proper way they want you to do it- go to www.skytv.co.nz and go to contact. Thanks for your help if you do

Hey Druzik - I noticed on your website that you've got a Greece v Cook Is. game in Sydney and a NZ Maori v Aus Aboriginies in Wollongong.
Any news on these? There's been news in NZ recently about the NZ Maori's playing as a at the SFS on the 26th October but no mention of the Wollongong game.
I got my ticket for Wollongong today - $7. If the Maori's game takes place then this is unreal value.

Some more news from NZ
NZRL planning both these games but still UNCONFIRMED:
October 12 - NZ Maori v All Golds (Fringe Kiwis & invited players)
October 19 - New Zealand v Samoa
NZ v Samoa most likely in Auckland and the NZ Maori v All Golds "not necessarily" in the same city.
Don't get too excited that these games will go ahead though - it is the NZRL trying to organise them.

Just out of curiousity what NZ players are eligable for maori? I imagine there would be alot.

I would like to see Russia have a game for a WC warm-up. A home game against Ireland, Scotland, maybe France would be good for both teams. If the USA and Euro Med games go ahead that's 4 games for Russia and 3 at home.
Lebanon and USA should be looked at by the likes teams in pool B and C for warm-up games aswell. These 2 and russia are 3 next best 4 that missed the WC so hopefully they can get involved with a few WC teams as Wales are doing with England.
Also would have loved to see South Africa have a game against Scotland or Ireland on their UK tour.

Just had a thought regarding NZ V Samoa...
...Vatuvei V Meli...
Wouldn't that be a match-up ;D
Hope the game goes ahead, both of them play and are marking each other.
