In 10 years? I would have thought they would have been wanting to get involved in the 11/12 qualifiers? It could happen, Simon Cooper is setting realistic goals for RLD, if they were to aim for 12/13 and not make it there would be egg on their face, this way if they do make it it is a nice thing saying that development has been better than expected. In Coops we trust. OK, i just thought Germany might be involved in lower tier europe qualifing like serbia, netherland, georgia andf russia group this time around. Besides I'm not entirely sure that if these euro tournaments continue that they won't be used as qualifiers also.

It would be ideal, its something that I have been goimng on about for ages. When the level gets good enough you hae say a 4 group of 4 teams qualifying process, say top or top two go through. Idealy I think you have top 3 ranked and host nation go through as automatic qualifiers.... in reality this will always be France and England so they can do their tour to Aus when qualifying is on, you then have the next 16 get spread out and the top team in each group go into a Euro nations tournie. BUT each group in its own right is also a tournie, so you can keep rthe Euro med, bowl and shield and have an extra one. I'd do something similar with the pacific nations as well.

Yeh well If these continue which I hope they will, i do not see any reason they can't double as WC qualifiers same with the pacific champs as you said. What I am looking forward to is these proposed euro nations tournament on the england web-site, hopefully england and france will be involved to mix with the likes of wales, scotland, ireland, russia, serbia, etc. I think it shouyld be atleast 8 teams.

England 10 teams. Why have joint hosting? France can host their own world cup in 2017. Personally I think only 4 teams can host the world cups, if you have England/France you only have 3. Good point. By 2017 hopfully France will be able to host a sucessful RLWC. I still think If it is held in England and Wales qualify, give them a home game or 2, maybe even scotland or ireland aswell. 2021 hopefully we will have alot more options for the WC. USA, Russia, South Africa? I'm not sure NZ could currently host a WC. I think the best way to test NZ would be to give them a 4 or 5 nations tournament and host all new zealand and non-australia game in NZ. Then hold australian games at home. Team 1 V Team 2 - Venue, City, Capacity New Zealand V Australia - Eden Park, Auckland, 45,500 England V PNG - Waikato Stadium, Hamilton, 27,500 New Zealand V France - Westpack Stadium, Wellington, 36,000 Australia V PNG - Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, 52,500 England V France - Mt. Smart Stadium, Auckland, 35,000 New Zealand V PNG - Rotorua Int. Stadium, Rotorua, 35,000 Australia V England - Sydney Football Stadium, Sydney, 45,000 PNG V France - Carisbrook, Dunedin, 30,000 New Zealand V England - AMI Stadium, Christchurch, 36,500 Australia V France - Teltra Dome, Melbourne, 56,500 Final - Eden Park - Auckland, 45,000 NZ is a bit iffy, I admit. A WC could work here but Rugby League would need to be on a high, ATM it's at a low. Places like Dunedin and Hamilton probably wouldn't get the crowds as there's almost no rugby league there. If NZ had a world cup I would hope the little towns would get quite a few games like Greymouth and Huntly because those places are our heartlands. Maybe NZ could co host with PNG or even Fiji? A WC game in Fiji could be cool, it wouldn't be massive money earner but the locals would go crazy and people could go there for the sun. It won't happen but it would be cool.

It is on a low ATM, with warriors and kiwis doing poorly. Maybe when (if) an NRL team gets in wellington would be a good time. Or just back to the 4-5 nations idea, have it in a year when the warriors do well aswell as the kiwis. If the tournament is held in October/November it the hosting decision could be held off until May after the Anzac test. If NZ do well in the Test and Warriors are doing well give the comp to NZ. Maybe NZ could co host with PNG or even Fiji? A WC game in Fiji could be cool, it wouldn't be massive money earner but the locals would go crazy and people could go there for the sun. It won't happen but it would be cool. I have thought of that a few times, NZ co-hosting with PNG. The problem with PNG is the potential for games is limited as as far as I know their biggest stadium is 15k. No doubt if they had a 30k seat stadium they could sell it out but I struggle to see with the current finances how they could afford to build or upgrade a stadium to 25-30k. Fiji on the other hand apparently have a 30k seat stadium, according to this anyway. Eden Park would be big enough to host the final.

Do you think the RLIF have enough in the budget for the sheer volume of tear gas needed to keep 30,000 rampaging papuans at bay?

The last thing we need is a soccer like riot. I wonder how many are coming over for the WC? must be a few going to townsville surely.
