You include things like domestic comps don't you? I think it's fine if you do that. It just makes your rankings more of a strength of rugby league in each country then a list showing the best rugby league playing nations in the world.

Finally someone got the point of it! NZ actually didnt play many Internationals last year and thats why they are ranked down... if anything a top weighting for the domestic comp is what kept them in the top 10 I would say. Remember last year where NZ played many more internationals and also had the WC games they certainly cam in at 2 I think.

out off curiostiy does anyone actually know how many nz played last year? must be close to double digits. it cant remember a stage in NZRL when theyve had so much depth. they can win a WC with their star player walking out on the game , their captain ruled out, a gun forward (pritchard) rules out and a few other.... i cant remember the last time nz fielded a full strenght side

Australia on the other hand had 23 through all levels. www.rugbyleagueinternationalscores.com/Results/International/Rankings/

I get it mate, it just seems daft when everyone knows that should NZ play any of those nations above them they would almost certainly beat them.
One thing i considered which would also benefit developing nations, but, I would think clearly put the top three in their rightful positions is points for numbers of players from that nations domestic comp who play outside that country i.e Soni Radanovic who left the serb comp for the UK would weight points in serbias favour, while NZ who have many junior RL players playing overseas in the UK and Aus.
I know you could be looking at a minefeild there but maybe worth a thought.

I fail to see how you come by your rankings,New Zealand at No 10? by my reckoning and I suspect 9/10 people will say NZ are No 2 if not No1 seeing as they are the reigning world champions, obviously world rankings can be fiddled to suit anyones train of thought.
