If anyone wants to contact Tom after reading the story or thank him for his support of Rugby League and the Axemen his e-mail is tom@alwaysbepals.com He may even look at putting the recent segments about Rugby League up on his unflitered website so those outside the Jacksonville Comcast market can see them if he gets enough suggestions. - Axemen get Uncensored with Tom McManus Former Jacksonville Jaguar and host of both his own Radio and TV Show, Tom McManus added a Rugby League segment to the most recent edition of his weekly uncensored TV show that helps the Axemen and Rugby League make a main stream ripple in the worlds largest sporting pond see the full story at www.jaxaxe.com

How are the NFL clubs taking to RL... is there any interest there to have a link with them to help potential NFL players that dont make the cut have another option and play RL semi pro?

It will be a long time before NFL clubs show interest in any RL club for player development due to a ton of reasons but mostly due to the money. The lowest paid active roster guys on an NFL team are paid a league minimum of $310,000 per year and that is for the third back up guy that may well never play a down in a game. Even the 8 guys that are on the practice squad make $90,000 per year and all they do is train with the team. With the depth at each position that an NFL team keeps there is no need to have any other kind of player development of farm team. Even with 11 offence and 11 defensive starters (total 22 players) an NFL roster is 53 plus 8 guys on the practice team which means you have more than 2 guys for every spot. Players would not bother about playing for the small dollars we would be offering in the future anyway. An approach to an NFL team should be more along the lines of offering their fans some type of off season contact sports in a way to show more value to season ticket holders. More to come on a proposal I am working on at the moment about this
