i ocasionally ask steve macoud a few questions on his blog and he came back with an interesting read this week. ive posted the alst part of it below.

France 23 man squad
Full squad (Catalans unless stated): Jean-Philippe Baile, Kane Bentley, Thomas Bosc, Remi Casty, Vincent Duport, Olivier Elima (capt), Jamal Fakir, David Ferriol, Mathieu Griffi (Toulouse), Romain Gagliazzo (Carcassonne), Cyril Gossard, Clint Greenshields, Maxime Greseque (Pia), Casey McGuire, Sebastien Martins, Christophe Moly (Carcassonne), Dimitri Pelo, Sebastien Raguin, Teddy Saddaoui (Carcassonne), Cyril Stacul, Julien Touxagas, Frederic Vaccari (UTC), Constant Villegas (Toulouse).
Really suprised not to see Tamghart, Rinaldi or Anselme there. Also Interesting that Carcassone have more players than Toulouse (3:2) and Elite champs Lezignan have zero.
1. Greenshields 2. Pelo 3. Baille 4. Raguin 5. Duport 6. Bosc 7. Greseque 8. Ferriol 9. McGuire 10. Martins 11. Elima 12. Gossard 13. Griffi 14. K Bentley 15. Casty 16. Fakir 17. Saddaoui
Will suffer without Mounis, Guisset, Rinaldi and Anselme IMO but overall alot better than the team they put out in June.

Folau is now definately out of the whole tournament, Brett Morris has come in as replacement. Big doubts over Brett White, Hindmarsh and Kurt Kidley aswell.

Gee wow.... but I am sorry I dont accept Moimoi in there... he has to just make up his mnd and pick Tonga Found an interesting quote from NZ selector Tony Kemp: "The first thing is that you've got to want to wear the black jersey, that is the culture we want to continue to develop. If you are umming and ahhing about which country to play for then you are probably not the right person to pick in a New Zealand side." That's exactly the kind of attitude NZ need, & that kind of passion has allowed us to punch above of weight in the past. A shame they didn't stick to this when picking Moimoi & Goodwin.

wow! 12-4 at half time! could have been one of the biggest upsets in league history. the crowds of over 11,000 was the highest for an anglo french test since 1952"

Yeah it was great stuff. Scoreline wasnt really a true reflection of the game. The French were absolutely all over the Poms in the first half. I was very impressed to read that also sportsmad, about it being the biggest crowd since '52. That is fantastic. The quicker we get these annual tournaments into a successful competition financially the quicker we can inject funds back into the world game.
Ive never really seen so much International League getting as much publicity as it is this season. Right now Im watching Fiji V Cook Islands from Port Moresby, and its fantastic. These matches would never get any sort of coverage. NRL.com has really impressed me this season with the amount of International news and results theyre showing, something they never really did in the past besdies the fixtures with Australia in it.
The comps are all picking up sponsorship too, with even the America V Jamaica series picking up a sponsor, which is huge. Forgive me for rambling, but im excited about the way International League is going!.
When was the last time you saw Fiji V Cook Islands talked about, let alone televised in Union?.

Something else I thought about whilst watching the England V France game this morning, who thinks Tony Smith is the right man for the England coaching position?. The poms clearly have some skilled players and a good forward pack, I cant help but feeling its the coaching letting them down. I personally feel as though there must be an Englishman capable of taking the reigns.
