Its not televised here mate, I watch the games through the 'net we have extensive highlights on pay tv though.

There is no live English premier league on FTA here either, so that means nothing really.

Thats why it amuses me when people suggest the BBC or other UK broadcaster would even consider picking up RL over sky

Absurd A-League plan to cap crowds
FLEDGLING A-League club Gold Coast United will push on with a ludicrous plan to cap home crowds at 5000 in a bid to save money.

In a controversial cost-cutting measure that has already provoked a bitter backlash from supporters, United fans will be locked out of Skilled Park on Saturday night when Robbie Fowler's North Queensland Fury visit.

The Coast will defy a Football Federation Australia directive by following through with the plan after billionaire backer Clive Palmer gave stadium officials the necessary 10 days' notice that the crowd-capping project would take place this weekend, and for the November 7 clash with Sydney FC.

By capping the crowd at 5000, United aren't required to pay a state government transport levy of $3.15 a ticket and will also save money on stadium staff by opening just one stand and not having to implement a traffic plan.

"We know the FFA are disappointed, but we'll keep going with it until we see an increase in interest from fans,'' United CEO Clive Mensink said.

United are averaging crowds of just 5621, with their biggest attendance coming in round two when 7526 fans saw them thrash the Fury 5-0.

A-League boss Archie Fraser yesterday demanded an explanation, saying: "Capping ticket sales is not in the best interests of the club, the A-League, football or the people of the Gold Coast.''

The A-League's expansion into Queensland is a monumental failure. Expensive too. They set up teams on the Gold Coast and Townsville because they wanted to hurt rugby league. Both teams draw poor crowds and do not have many fans.

Obviously the FFA were too stupid to learn from John O'Neill's mistake.
