Roy is a certified level II coach and has recently represented the New Zealand University side at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup. Roy also played for the NZ Maori 7's team in Australia and was selected for the World University 13 side. Roy spent considerable years playing rugby league in Australia for Wentworth Magpies, Tully Tigers, and the Parramatta Eels Jersey Flegg team. Originally from way down south in Otago, New Zealand, Roy graduated from Otago Sports Institute with a Diploma of Sport Performance and is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Sport Business Management. Ihaka Waerea Ihaka has a colorful career for such a young player in rugby so far, with the honor of being the youngest player to be selected for the Wellington Hurricanes (Rugby Union) Colts (under 21's) team. Ihaka was selected for the Manawatu under 18's side, and then moved south to Otago University whom he represented in 2007 and 2008 at the NZ University games. Ihaka also represented the Otago Maori colts and the Maori premier Rugby teams. He is currently studying to be a qualified Cert III and Cert IV level personal trainer in Brisbane, Australia.
