Going really well, Widnes next, time for revenge ;D Sorry I am a Barrow fan in Championship... though I do like Toulouse... a choice between the two is the Raiders... sorry jim  i was aware. For what it's worth I'll support Barrow against any other team, maybe even with Gateshead actually. Anyway great win by Toulouse, if they can get Widnes they are a real shot at a GF spot that would but assure them a SL license I imagine. Still a long way to go. Anyone with a bit more insight then me mind telling me who the stars players have been? I see Planas got centre of the month in RLW and Houles was Lock but other than that I havn't heard much. I'll have to watch the next game on Orange. |

My view always has been that a good team should ne bale to win without any standout stars.
Toulouse have bought well I think and have a good team thats balanced across the board... They can have some injuries and have others step in.
Its why I took alot of heart from cronullas match on saturday, we were devestated with injuries and and Gallen was not firing but the whole team stepped it up.
Actually Jin, Toulouses big test is not Widnes... its Halifax in July.

Actually Jin, Toulouses big test is not Widnes... its Halifax in July. I still believe a 70 point turn around would be by far their biggest win of the season even if Widnes aren't firing currently. If they can beat Fax in July and have a good run until then then Toulouse are equal favorites or maybe even outright IMO. Ofcourse a long way away but if they can make the GF it would all but assure them of a SL spot in 2012, a GF win is just a bonus ;D. |

Well, congratulation are in order for Marv's Barrow Raiders who are the Minor premiers in the Championship this year.
Not bad for a team that was in Championship 1 last year, won promotion and this year have matched it with the big boys, making the NRC final and now minor premiers... can they win the whole thing though!
This also has to ask the question... Are Barrow, with a catchment area of about 100-130k people... possible for a super league liscence?

Seriously I dont know, the whole cumbria thing has been done to death, Barrow look best placed of all the clubs in Cumbria, but our ground is old and too small for SL standards and in all honesty we should be looking at a higher attendance even in the championship.
Lets see how this playoff series goes, I feel we may be too soon fopr 2012, in 2015 could be more likey

I think they will make a bid, it just wont be accepted, I dont feel a small town like Barrow fits into the RFL expansion policy. I also dont feel the people of west cumbria would want to follow Barrow. Perhaps Barrow might have more success if they were branded as South Lakes or South Cumbria as it has more geographical spread over the other small towns around Barrow, like ulverston whwere my parents live or Dalton where I live. But then your into the realms of removing the clubs tradition and i dont think many would like that idea |
