At least there is a kiwi about to win this prestigious tipping competition even if i dont believe they can win the game this week. If we had some of our traditional big boppers to upset the roos it would be possible but the fact is our pack was even outmuscled by the rubbish poms. But I do live in hope.... GO THE KIWIS!!!!!! 1. Oz 2. Inglis 3. 18-6 Oz 4. 32-12 Oz 5. 44 But if the planets allign.... 24-0 Kiwis!!!!!

from what i saw on the weekend NZ have alot of ground to make up, as do England for that matter. What a shame it was England under-performed, the best possible result for the rlwc and IRL would have been an Englan win or artleast a tight final. That way there would have been a lot more interest in the 4N next year. Anyway...
Australia Slater A 16-6 32 - 24 56

WOW!
what a superb game. New Zealand turned up and never left. Their defence was superb and showed that if you keep your handling errors down then you can beat australia.
Two things have come out of this win in my eyes... we finally have a new world cup champion and its a country that has the possibility to take off the sport. RL in New Zealand will boom in 2009.
IT's amazing. This time last year New Zealand had been decimated by the roos 58-0, lost a series to the Brits 3-0 and almost lost to the french. What I saw in Paris when I met them was a disjointed team that had absolutely no respect for the jersey... and run shoddily.
However what a year can do after bighting the bullet. Clean out the NZRL, new coach and bring in Bennett and actual players who give some sort of stuff for the shirt... and wallah you have world champions.
Looking back the way NZ played the second half of the centenary test... was a prelude to what we saw in this final.
Congrats New Zealand you were the best team on the night and fully deserve the accolades.
