OK so there has been much debate going on other forums about weather Great britain should have been playing or if it should be the current home nations. There are many arguments fore and against I guess, and this is not a thread really to justify either.
I propose a simple question out of curiosity:
Of all the test and world cup matches the 4 "home nations" have been involved with this year can anyone come up with a GREAT BRITAIN 24 man touring team that would win the world cup and beat the Australians on a regular basis. You can use the 24 man touring teams from all four countries for your selections. So format
Position Name Country
I propose this question just to see if people would just go for the usual English suspect or be willing to really make it a "British team".

I still thinK GB would be mostly if not all English and would rob alot of players a chance at the WC.
Anyway I'll give it a shot:
England Ireland Scotland Wales
1. P Wellens 2. A Gardner 3. M Gleeson 4. K Senior 5. L Smith 6. L Pryce 7. R Burrow 8. J Graham 9. I Henderson 10. J Peacock 11. G Ellis 12. S Burgess 13. K Sinfield 14. J Roby 15. A Morley 16. A Lynch 17. G Hock 18. D Brough 19. D McGuire 20. M Fa'asavlu 21. M McIllorum 22. J Wilkin 23. R Purdham 24. P Richards
I reckon that's still the best and the only inclusion from Scotland, Ireland or Wales was Ian Henderson.

Interesting you left out Brough and also Richardson. I think those two have been outstanding. I certainly would have then in a 24 man line up.

Hmm yeh I would definatley have Brough in the squad, didn't think fo that. I presume you mean Richards, he has been good too and would be a great back-up winger if not starting. I'll edit for a 24 man squad.

personally, If we are looking at forming a hypothetical GB team from the England, Ireland, Wales and scotland sides I would have Pat Richards in my starting 13, Brough and Ian Henderson in my squad.
The only player from wales who I would say could get anywhere near the "gb" squad would be the lad from Bradford, Dave Halley, hes an exiting young FB/Winger
