SHIT!!! I wanted Australia to win but that scoreline is the worst thing that could have happened. Seriously disheartening for IRL fans, Australia will take to PNG next week, then Fiji or Samoa the week after. I'm not looking forward to it at all. Benn on another forum and all the talk about is the RLWC being over and a joke and England imposters etc etc and I'd usually defend the WC but I don't think I have it in me tonight. Can't be good at all for crowds or General interest and seeing as they now have an easy passage to the final our only hope of salvaging some credibility will come in the final. I'll be there and hoping like fuck for a tight game.

Well,
That wasnt a great result for the RLWC. I am surprised though, id have thought there would have been alot more negative press around after that than there has been. Normally whenever Australia whallops someone its "the death of international Rugby League", I havent seen any ridiculous statements like that.
The poms looked ok for awhile there in the first half, Rob Burrow played well I thought. They didnt really deserve to be beaten by that much. Although its a downer at the moment, it will very soon be forgotten if we get some closer games between the big 3, and I am still very confident that will happen in the semis, and ultimately the final.
At the end of the day this world cup has already proved to be a success, the strong possibility of an annual Tonga V Samoa match is fantastic for the international game. I am sure there will be plenty more positives come out of it by the end. We need to remember that it really is a new beginning for our game, we are building a foundation here, RLCW 2013 will be even better again.
