Rugby League cannot expand anymore

Rugby League will never be popular outside of Northern England, Png Aus & NZ. If it cannot even expand to South Aus or WA, how do you expect other countries to take this seriously. Rugby League in France with 10,000 Rugby League players compared with Soccer’s 2.5 Million.

As for Soccer its already the number 1 sport in 221 nations

Football will be the new number 1 sport in Australia, and Number 2 in NZ. With RL going further down the rankings in New Zealand to Number 3 as they will realise through qualification that the Football World Cup is a far more important event than to watch a Warriors match or a NZ playing a small number of Rugby League nations.

So this is as good as it gets for Rugby League only popular in Northern England, South Eastern France, Eastern Australia, NZ and PNG. Outside of these areas it will never be popular

I'll take Union over soccer any day. I have been to two soccer matches in my time,
Skippylands WC qualifier against Youaregay which sent us to Germany 2006... dire game, if it wasnt for the crowd and beer I would have been asleep 10 mins into that. NO one in the crowd where I was seemed to really watch the match, just friggin yap, yap, yap. I then say Shidonee FC play some Costa rican numpties (my word of the week) in Toyota at you guessed it Toyota Stadium, gotta love the japanese sense of order. Another dire 1-0 match that the CR won. Got very hammered on booze, as only beer chicks were doing the rounds in the seats, food you had to get up and buy yourself... since I am a lazy ass... if beer comes to me... I drink beer. The only thing memorable about that night was the trip home which ended up with us getting home a 3 am doing a 60 km Taki ride after somehow convincing the driver to take us to Toki, then friggin attemp[ting top walk to the hotel from what ever random location we were at... found a 24 hout 2-11 and bot a bottle of vodga to drink with the crazy russin Prof that was with me.... That is all I remember of that night, none of the game...

Anyway, yeah not a a soccer fan.

When the socceroos played in the WC I watched every game but that is about all I watch really, big soceroos games, not dire games against Qatar.

I like the way old mate said Soccer will be the most popualr sport in Australia before long. The A-League crowds are shit, it puts Sydney League crowds to shame. I weas flicking through and found Perth V Sydney at Perth the other day and there would have been about 5,000, in a city of 1.5million where Soccer is aparently more popular than league and fuck all else was going on. Oh and the "much anticipated" WCQ against Qatar that "sold out weeks ago" got 34,000 and It's quite obvious it wasn't sold out because there was nobody in the top tier, you can't tell me they all just didn't turn up, I have sat in the top tier and is free of rain.
