I'm guessing the NZ WC squad will be made up of players involved in this game and the NRL and ESL GFs. And Simon Mannering is guaranteed.
That leaves no Dene Halatau, Evarn Tuimavave, Ben Matulino and Fuifui Moimoi as players I thought may have a shot the WC squad.
As for the game, the All Golds should win comfortably but it will be a good occasion up there and probably the only time I'll ever go to Taranaki. It's good to see Kevin Locke in the Maori's, be interesting to see how he goes against the big boys.

I would have thought that would make it a more competitive game, just looks like the kiwis with a few injuries facing off with a Toyota cup NZ rep side, mind you there are a few NRL players. I can see a drubbing.

Both teams will want to use it as a warm-up for their upcoming games (All Golds is basically NZ but the name allows Wiki, Jones, Swann to play). So there's no point mixing it up to make it a fair game. I also don't think the NZRL want a loss to dent the Kiwis confidence before the WC.

Why can't we just scrap this game and have Auckland V the rest like we were going to? Would be much more competitive and I would care so much more.

Yeah, I'd like to see Auckland v the rest but not this year. It would be more like a trial game for the Kiwis where this All Golds game is a WC warm-up with the squad already decided on. I think this game benefits the Kiwis more for the WC.

Chase Stanley has been called into the Maori team for the injured Anthony Cherrington. Stanley will start at centre with Koopu moving into the forwards.
I guess this means Stanley won't be in the Samoan WC squad.

Stanley wasn't named in any 40 man squad either. Pretty fast fall from grace after the big expectations placed on him at the UK All Golds Tour last year.
Hope he comes good, certainly talented enough.

All Golds won 44-10 in an entertaining game.
Finished in hilarious fashion with the All Golds awarded a penalty on their own 20 meter line after the hooter. Swann taps to Wiki who charges downfield at top pace while the Maori players fall over each other laughing making sure they don't trip Wiki and ruin his moment. Rube's of course finished with a huge grin on his face as he scored out wide. Then Logan Swann steps up and slots the conversion from a tricky angle lol.
Good games by Hohaia, Marshall, Vatuvei, Inu, Eastwood (limited time) and Luke for the All Golds. Aranta Taumata, Weller Hauraki, Rangi Chase, Hep Cahill and Chase Stanley all had good games for the Maori's, putting up a good challenge until Kearney got serious and subbed Stacey Jones off the field. jones was targetted in the defensive line and basically kept out of all contact situations.
David Kidwell was very ordinary and Thomas Leuluai was possibly only slightly better than Stacey Jones amongst the halves on show.
The kiwis will be much better for the run! Bring on Tonga.

Oh forgot someone who needs a mention, James Tamou had a huge game offloading in pretty much every tackle and putting in some big hits. The Kiwi's have some great young props coming through.

Around 5000. A bit disappointing since it was fantastic weather and a fairly special occasion for NZ league.
