Well I updated my rankings list here. My top 30 over the period 01.01.2005 - 30.06.2008 are:

The underlined nations" I guess are not proper nations but representing regions... interpret as you will. The italic nations are nations that not much is known if they are still active in 2008 and the bold nations are nations that I think we all know about... no need to go further there.

Interpret as you will, this has been done for a bit of fun.

So all up there are 36 active nations and regions around the world playing international rugby league... with about 7 that are observers.

The lastest rankings have been updated for the period 01.01.05 - 30-09-08... this is the 4 year cycle one. I will do a 2008 rankings later.

The movers and shakers are:

• Australia are still at #1
  
• England up one to the #2 spot
  
• NZ go to #3
  
• Lebanon go from #8 to #7
  
• Russia enter the top 10 at #10 with the two wins in the Euro Med.
  
• Germany go from 15 to 14th spot
  
• Italy go up 2 spots from 23rd to 21st
  
• Czechs and Latvia also both move up one spot to 24 and 28 respectively
  
• Ukraine move two spots from 36 to 34.
