THAT IS IT!"  OK, so Auckland, Wellington, Chriustchurch etc. are small parts of NZ? London, Leeds, Sheffield, Wigan, Manchester etc. are small parts of England? The national sport of PNG is only played in small parts of the country? Crowds of 9k to a club in a city of just over 100k is a complete joke? Typical Union personallity talking down league I suppose.  |

Peter Fitzimons is a nob at best... it reigns true to RU as well if that is his take on RL... actually where RL and RU compete on an equal footing, RU always looses out. RL in France is no Joke, Its fanstastic, fast and fun to watch. I dare him to go to some parts of france and say that... see if he will come out alive. Its so irritating that F**knuckles like him that are bread in the establishment continually come out and spout rubbish like that... and there are the sheep that will believe him and then quote that back in their arguments... it like the blind leading the blind. Then again the more RU continually concentrate on other sports and not theirs they are more than likely to fall over. |

The problem was the show he said it on (The Back Page) has Mike Gibson, Billy Birmingham and some AFL guy on there who didn't even know when the last origin was on. None of them would be knowledgable to correct him, the other week he made similar comments saying the RLWC is a joke, that only 3 teams can win it... last time I checked only 5 teams can realistically win the RU WC, South Africa, NZ, Aus, France and England. The last 2 are very questionable and Wales, Ireland, Scotland have about as much chance of winning the RUWC than PNG do of winning ours. The problem is the australian media, If nobody knows he is full of shit nobody will complain. |

Its more that you have the RU establishemnt in the media that controlls much of what is said, maybe not so in Aus but everywhere else it is. I am surprised that Mike Gibson didn't defend it... I though he was RL through and through?!  |

Well he might not know too much about the gamwe internationally, he defended the WC when fitzy made the "joke" statement, also it was at the end of the topic so they had to move on. |

I'll agree with that, I don't know why they keep bringing him back. I don't think Billy Birmingham likes him and only Union fans could enjoy watching him. Maybe they keep him on forcontrioversy or something, I don't know. |

Fitzys there because he probably stirs the bees nest a bit. Probably gets good ratings... but doesnt help IRL any.

Billy used to only be on occasionally but now is pretty mch on every week. I suppose he adds comedy value to the show but he does know what he is talking about more than most others that come on. Especially the AFL representatives, they know little to nothing besides their own sport. |
