Maybe Catalans could relocate a game or 2 to barcelona for publicity.

It may be, there are a couple of teams based at unis in Barcelona that have popped up over the last year or so. This may be a selct from them plus maybe some french Catalonia players. Be an interesting match none the less.
I think the Dragons do have some presence in Barcelona, so see what happens in the future.

Catalunya 12 Morocco 62
The Catalan XIII lost this evening against Morocco, in a match played in the Gilbert Brutus stadium in Perpignan. The team, coached by the north Catalan Eric Delherbe, have fallen by a clear 12-62, but inspite of that, they have presented a good image against a strong team in which practically all their players are in the French national league. In a temperature of 34ºC, Catalunya presented a good face until the end, but in the second half the Moroccans put to use their better experience and physical superiority, and finished clearly on top.
This was the the third appearance of the Catalan XIII, after their participation in the month of January in the French inter-league championship and their loss last week in Girona against the French University side by (17-68). The match (today) was played in front of 2,000 people, who cheered the Catalan selection. Afterwards, the Catalan Dragons played in their Super League match, and defended their third position against the English team Warrington Wolves.

That From Number 16 on TRL
Hope it works out for those involved.
I would like to see FCB field a team in Elite when they get the required players. They could run a first team in Elite and 2nds team in the Spanish comp. This may be a while away but would be a good stepping block for them to perhaps go upto Super League.
Anyway good to know the work is being done and hopefully before too long Spain will be playing Internationals aswell.

www.rlef.eu.com/news.php?id=1046This year has seen the first University Championship of Rugby League take place with 7 Catalan Universities. The championship was played in two days. The first, on February 26 at Girona’s University and the second, in Barcelona, (Mar Bella rugby field) on March 12 at one of the city Universities. The championship, organized by the Catalan Association of Rugby League, preceeds the next and first Catalan domestic league to be played from April to June. The participant teams at the University Championship were: University of Vic, Ramon Llull University, University of Perpinyà, University of Girona, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Pompeu Fabra University. Championship: The University of Perpinyà was the clear winner of the competition. This result was expected given the high level of the university players of the North of Catalonia. But the level of the rest of the universities was also very high, emphasizing the Ramon Rull University and the University of Girona, which stood up to the Perpinyà players. FINAL CLASSIFICATION: 1 University of Perpinyà 16 points 2 Ramon Llull University 14 points 3 University of Girona 10 points 4 Autonomous University of Barcelona 9 points 5 University of Vic 9 points 6 Polytechnic University of Catalonia 8 points 7 Pompeu Fabra University 2 points On Friday 27th April, the Catalan University National Team, a side picked from the best of the University sides, travelled to England to take on Leeds University. Despite a 34-10 defeat, the Catalan side showed a lot of determination and will look forward to repeating the experience to aid further development in Catalan University Rugby League
