That's good news they're on Fox - they don't usually show the semis do they? This gives me a little hope that SkyNZ will be showing them also. What channel are they on in the UK? the BBC

sorry i did'nt reply to your texts this morning dan..i've got no credit anyway, as you'll probably know by now st'helens & hull won..i went to the saints v leeds game..which was a cracker..caught the tailend of the 2nd semi which finished 32-24..sounds another cracker...missed that game because i was at a genuine cracker..oldham v keighley which finished 30-28...a result made all the more sweeter because marv's barrow got a thumping of rochdale ;D as for ESL results..only 1 games this weekend..that was huddersfield belting wigan by 30 odd points..

Am I right in thinking that Teams from Russia, Scotland and France dont get home games?
I know Catalans probably get home games but do Elite teams get home games?
A home game for Lokomotiv and/or Vereya would be good, maybe they play alot better at home and could get a win or two. I find it strange that Lokomotiv get beaten by ametuer teams since they account for alot of the Russian national team and they go alright against countries boasting pro and semi-pro players like Lebanon and Ireland in the WCQ's.

I think its just the Russians, I dont know how easy it would be to get the English lads into Russia, Im sure the RFL help the Russian clubs come over here. the French and Scottish teams can be drawn at home, it just doenst seem to happen very often

Celtic must have had a home game this year when they played Lokomotiv. I really hope the russian teams improve a bit, like I said before it's strange Lokomotiv and Vereya don't beat ametuer teams since the national team would probably beat BARLA. I think with a bit of top quality coaching they should be able to push their way into the SL entry stage. I would like to see an Irish team in there next year and maybe another european team, maybe dorcol. Would it ever be a possibility for teams outside europue to enter? Like clubs from lebanon, south africa or USA.

Russia would never beat BARLA in a million jim, I honestly cant explain how poor Vereya were when they came over, Unfit looking forwards, Skinny backs and some guys I swear didint know the rules, what made it worse is these guys were getting paid by the club!! If Russia doesnt do something they will die..........soon. I think with a bit of top quality coaching they should be able to push their way into the SL entry stage. Maybe about 20 years coaching!

I don't know, maybe I am underestimating BARLA but Russia did reasonably well against Ireland and Lebanon and there were alot of Pros and semi-pros in those teams. They are going backwards though and RRL really need to ditch Khlebanov or control his input. Maybe Khlebanov should fund the RRL intead of just Lokomotiv Moscow. Although he could already do this and I'm not aware. I wonder why they are of such a poor standard, surely with the money Lokomotiv weilds they could hire some decent coaching staff. Or perhaps Zenit St Petersburg could start up a RL club to rival Lokomotiv. Hopefully some of the WC profit can go towards RRL, although I fear it would just go to waste.

Russia 48-0 Ireland def. Russia 58-18 Lebanon def. Russia 22-8 Ireland def. Russia 50-12 they conceded over 170 points and only scored 38 against significantly weaker Ire/Leb sides than the Ire/Leb sides which took the field in the Leb v Ire games, Ireland used a few wolfhounds and Lebanon used a lot of Espoirs They are going backwards though and RRL really need to ditch Khlebanov or control his input. I think he does fund the RRL too and basically thats why they wont get rid of him, what they need to do is let the guys like tim sheens go and do his thing, because at the end of the day the russian guys doing the coaching will not have NRL/SL experience

I know they weren't full strength but they would have been quality opposition. Question is how would BARLA go against those teams? I'm not so sure they would go too much better. That's what I think the best option is for RRL, get Tim Sheens back in charge of the national team and let him work his magic. I'm not saying he would make them world beaters but he would definatley raise the bar. Maybe when he retires from NRL coaching because knowing the Tigers they wouldn;t want him coaching Russia. Just on that subject, how did the Sheens and Russia relationship start? I'm guessing the Tigers had something to do with him stopping.
