Right lads, it seems rules are there to be broken and in doing so you'll receive, well, nothing as it happens.
The spineless fools who run our great game have given Hull a slapped wrist for fielding Jamie Thackeray, ineligable as he signed after the Cup transfer deadline date and played against both Rochdale AND Widnes.
So not only did they break the laws of the game once, they broke it twice and still got away with it.
A complete and utter mockery!

Players signed up before round 3 of the SL season (I think!) are eligable to play in the Challenge Cup. Those who are signed after that point are not (Or something along them lines).
For instance, Thackeray signed for Hull on 27th March, more than 3 weeks after the deadline.
How can there possibly be a deadline to abide by if there are 'no specific penalty for fielding an ineligable player'? The RFL then go on to say it is a 'serious breach' of rules.
So if it is a serious breach, why is there no specific punishment? Complete joke.
The rule was broken not once, but twice. Therefore it is twice as bad.
-------
A RFL statement read: "In view of the absence of a mandatory provision, the RFL board determined that the results of the Carnegie Challenge Cup fourth and fifth-round matches involving Hull FC will stand and the club will continue in the competition.
"It is, however, clear that playing an ineligible player is a serious breach of the operational rules and the board has referred the matter to the RFL compliance manager to deal with under the misconduct rules.
"The RFL board intends to review the operational rules relating to competitions and will consider whether the rules should be amended so that offences of this nature will lead to mandatory expulsion from the cup in future seasons."
Make your own minds up....
