As said in the Japan thread i have been reading alot lately about this tournament and how Japan should be there. Personally I would like this tournament to accomodate for SA, CI and Jamaica or WI aswell.
I like the idea of involving atlantic nations with oceania nations as it will bring their standard up. I would like the ultimate goal to be euro, atlantic and oceania championships all under tier systems, I gone through this several times.
Also on hosting, I would like to see SA host this event in the future but for this tournament do people think it should be held in 1 city or a few. I would personally like to see a few cities host games, Philli, Jacksonville, New York etc. I would also like to see LA get a game.

Jim in reality in the end this six nations as good as it is is a wast of time and money.
for teams like Cooks and SA to be included and get a look in they need to have provincial championships where teams that do weel there go through to a 6 nations which then becomes a path to the WC. Teams will always have different opposition to play and will have a chance to play the big boys on occasion.
But its better than nothing I guess.

I wouldn't go that far but i see where you are coming from. I think this tournament could be a major draw-card for any islander to stay loyal to their country, let's face it a month in USA is an attractive proposition. Also it will help bring the standard of all teams up especially USA and Japan. It also gives USA a major International event to support. All these above are positive points but there still remains the fact the winner probably will not be rewarded. The Euro comps running have the reward of promotion. It will bring the standards of all teams up but until they get games against the big guns they will always be tier 2 sides. I have heard this proposal before, I think it was probably you Dan, can't remember. Anyway it was to do with the pacific nations and that the winner would get a game against the loser of the Anzac test. The winner of that game would go on to face the winner of the Anzac test. That may be hard to understand so I'll do an example, say PNG win the 6 nations and Australia win the Anzac test, PNG play NZ and the winner gets a game against Australia end-of season. Or it could be done with the end-of-season test considering clubs would not release players for a game against PNG and the 6 nations is on in October.
