It is going to be Russia match, 20th September (I think it's almost sure). I don't know yet where is it going to be played. If Belgrade, we would probably have to promote it well for 500-600 people, but if somewhere in country than more than 1000 is not impossible mission. People in Belgrade, as in every bigger city are spoiled and they are full of sports and other cultural events, but those in the country, don't have too often chance to watch national team in any sport. For example, handball national team played in Nis (second largest city in Serbia) in front of sold hall a week ago. In Belgrade, they wouldn't gather 2000. When Serbain U23s played v BARLA GB U18s in Nis last year, the kick-off was in front of 2000. Later, a lot of them went home when we start loosing but that's the bad side of mentality of the people from the country. Of course, this is on if the weather will be OK. OK sounds good, 1000 would be good turnout. Sounds like you could benifit from playing it in Nis. TBH I didn't think Serbia would get that many. What sort of standing does the game have there? does it get much media coverage etc.? Hopefully Serbia can be competitive against russia to keep the crowd happy. Also you know a bit about Russia RL yes? do you know 1. if the USA game will go ahead and 2. What city/stadium(s) this and the euro-med game will be played? What sort of crowds do you think russia could/will get to these games?

OK sounds good, 1000 would be good turnout. Sounds like you could benifit from playing it in Nis. TBH I didn't think Serbia would get that many. Well, watching the World Cup playoffs and seeing that these matches attracted about 1000 people in UK, I thought thatt in Serbia these matches with promotion of these rugby names (Ireland, Wales, Samoa, USA, Lebanon) would attract at least the same crowd. And it would be great for development, and in one hand, it would be fair, to play at neutral venues. What sort of standing does the game have there? does it get much media coverage etc.? This is exclusive, on Saturday night, in Belgrade suburbs, municipality of Lazarevac, new club play their inaugural match v Serbian U18s or U17s (I don't know yet). This clubs will start like Podbara and Palilulac Hammers last year played v Serbia U16s, who played in U16 European Nations Cup. So, probably, it means that tehre are more senior RL tahn RU clubs in Serbia now. About media, we had one half-hour TV show on the sports channel with national coverage last year, but this year due to lack of finance and legal video material we cannot have it. That TV don't want to show SuperLeague or NRL matches, because of logos of SkySports or FoxTel. Fortunately, one other TV from Nis don't have that problem and the leading guy of Palilulac Hammers team broadcasts NRL on that local TV with cable coverage in the majority of Serbia. One sports daily newspapers do announcement and match reports of each Round of national championships. The other one is under control of Serbian rugby Union PR manager, so RL has no coverage in that one. Hopefully Serbia can be competitive against russia to keep the crowd happy. I know that the boys will do their best and that they don't think of themselves as underdogs in that match. Also you know a bit about Russia RL yes? do you know 1. if the USA game will go ahead and 2. What city/stadium(s) this and the euro-med game will be played? What sort of crowds do you think russia could/will get to these games? I think that Russia v USA would attract a lot of crowd, few thousands, but it is not likely that the match will happen this September. Russian RL federation has several options when the venue of the Euro-Med Cup match is in question. They can play in Naro-Fominsk sports centre (Vereya's home ground in Moscow wide suburbs) like in WC qualifiers, they can play at Dynamo Moscow ground like their Cup finals two weekends ago and on Lokomotiv ground, so I don't know yet, but Moscow is the most probable option for them.

Good to hear RL gets some TV and media coverage in serbia, any idea if any of Serbia's internationals will be broadcast in serbia? Same with Russia and Lebanon? I know that the boys will do their best and that they don't think of themselves as underdogs in that match. I'm hoping Serbia will do well and I wouldn't be suprised if they won the euro-med. From what I hear Russia isn't going great and Lebanon will only use local players. Whoever wins this tournament, do they get promoted to the top tier? or play the Wales (5th ranked) for a spot or something? I think that Russia v USA would attract a lot of crowd, few thousands, but it is not likely that the match will happen this September. So Russia V USA doesn't look likely for this year? Shame. Other than euro med games do serbia or russia have any other games confirmed or rumoured? Maybe the winner of the euro-med could get a game against Ireland or Scotland before the WC.

So 6 clubs next season, great news. We'll see if they'll have quality to play officially in the competiion or just friendlies. We had situation with Palilulac Hammers last year that they played just one match in the championships and had to withdraw than due to problems with infrastructure. We don't want the same situation with this club, too. Good to hear RL gets some TV and media coverage in serbia, any idea if any of Serbia's internationals will be broadcast in serbia? Same with Russia and Lebanon? Live broadcast of Serbian games on TV are Sci-Fi at the moment. I don't know about Russia and Lebanon. Well, Serbia is the lowest ranked of Euro-Med Cup nations, and has never won these in open age competition. Russians are very fit and physically superior in comparison to Serbia and Lebanon, and we will play away match v Lebanese, so it will be harder than in Belgrade last summer when they won 16-14. But, we'll see: everyhting is possible. So Russia V USA doesn't look likely for this year? Shame. Other than euro med games do serbia or russia have any other games confirmed or rumoured? Maybe the winner of the euro-med could get a game against Ireland or Scotland before the WC. It's my opinion based on some rumours, but I don't want to discovered it because I don't know how realistic are they. I don't know the destiny of the winner of Euro-Med, because it is not graded as usual (Cup-Plate-Shield-Bowl), it is maybe not the happiest name of the tournament, but it is obvious that it is after home nations and France, the toughest competition of RLEF this year.

Managements of Red Star Belgrade and Belgrade University XIII RL clubs agreed to play post-ponned match of Round 6 not on 30th August, but on last weekend and the final score was 34-16 for Red Star, although it was 12-12 on the halftime and competative game until 70th minute. Preparations of U18 national team for the Euorpean Nations Cup, which is going to be held in Czech Republic in early September, are going to be finishizing on 30th August and Red Star gives a lot players for U18 national team and this deal is logical. Round 6 (completed): 1st June, Nis: Palilulac Hammers 10-44 Podbara 29th June, Novi Beograd: Red Star 34-18 Belgrade University XIII Dorcol Spiders bye Standings: 1 | Dorcol Spiders | 7 (6-1-0) | 330-129 (+201) | 13 | 2 | Podbara Novi Sad | 6 (4-0-2) | 196-146 (+50) | 8 | 3 | Red Star Belgrade | 7 (3-1-3) | 196-228 (-32) | 7 | 4 | Belgrade University XIII | 7 (2-0-5) | 153-240 (-87) | 4 | 5 | Palilulac Hammers | 7 (1-0-6) | 90-222 (-132) | 2 |
Round 9 match Red Star v Podbara will be played most likely on next weekend.

Round 9 (completed): 21st June, Novi Beograd: Belgrade University XIII 12-52 Dorcol Spiders 13th July, Belgrade: Red Star 10-48 Podbara Palilulac Hammers bye Standings: 1 | Dorcol Spiders | 7 (6-1-0) | 330-129 (+201) | 13 | 2 | Podbara Novi Sad | 7 (5-0-2) | 244-156 (+88) | 10 | 3 | Red Star Belgrade | 8 (3-1-4) | 206-276 (-70) | 7 | 4 | Belgrade University XIII | 7 (2-0-5) | 153-240 (-87) | 4 | 5 | Palilulac Hammers | 7 (1-0-6) | 90-222 (-132) | 2 |
Red Star finished their season and they can't jump over Podbara any more, which means that we know the both finalists. Those are, as many expected, Dorcol Spiders and Podbara. The final match will be played in Belgrade, but before that Serbian clubs will play round 10. Dorcol will be hosts in Nis v Palilulac Hammers and Podbara will warm up for finale on their pitch in Novi Sad v Belgrade University XIII. These matches will be played in late August.

Yes, they were home team and they wanted to play in their newest kits and Podbara had to play in their previous-season kits with title "PODBARA" on the back above the number. It can be seen on the pics, so I didn't wrote that.

They defeated Podbara of Novi Sad 60-18 (halftime: 32-6). First sets proved that Grand Final gathered the best players of Serbia divided in great rivals. Dorcol Spiders consisted of majority of team of Serbia and nation's leading U18s versus growing Novi Sad team with four Serbian internationals in charge. Guests led in 13th minute after solo effort by Nenad Grbic, but the man of the match Soni Radovanovic quickly responded with first of his four tries. Convincing triumph of the leaders after regular season was eased at about middle of the first half, when visitors stayed one man short due to sent off player. Since then through the half time, it was one team show. Spiders scored five more tries in the first half. Earned advantage, Spiders proficiently stretched till the final whistle, although plucky Podbara players were more in possession in major part of second half. Spiders played good defensive game and often used Podbara's mistakes to score after long-range runs. Next weekend sees new challenges for local teams, because Serbian Cup kicks off with quarterfinal matches.
