www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,23548267-5001023,00.html A sad day for rugby league. One of the true clubman and work horses of the game. He served St's for most of his career and then in a back stab found himseld on the out. Cronulla were quick to save him and he repaid them in Kind. Lance quickly became a favourite at Cronulla... his devestating runs and high tackle rate finally were on our side rather than against us. With him in the team the Sharks have beaten St's every time since. Its a shame about his diabeties, but I think the knee injury was more of a worry. But 13 years at the top is nothing to be sniffed at and is a long and wonderful career. All the best Lance in you junior coaching and life.

absolutley sad to see any player retire but hopefully he can contribute to the game in other ways, a true pro.

He was quite unique the "red menace". While playing pro RL he managed to - have 4 kids (i think) - He coaches 2 junior sides in the cornulla/st george area - He is a registered player manager and has several NRL players on his books that he menages.
Somehow, despite the injury and diabetes, I think he will be a success in what ever he does.
All the best to him.

I think cronulla are gonna try sign him on to be a forwards coach and to guide some of the younger players. But he's also got his management business
