Well I am back! Wooooooooow. Whta a place riga is. I am in Loooove. The goodess of Europe filled with godessess. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. That is a city to go to again. There was a game of rugby league played as well! Played in Garkalne just outside of Riga, the game took place in a purpose built stadium for rugby. In Garlkalne onr of the local residents and businessman funded the bulding of a sports field and stadium. So there were small but good grandstands to have the fans out of the lements which were switching and swapping all over the place that day. Also some other rugby league soports journalists from the UK, came along as they were on holiday in Riga as well, Nigel wis, nick walker and andrew whitaker. So our post wembly drinks are sorted Spud! ;D. LATVIA CONVINCING WINNERS TO TAKE EUROP BOWL Conditions were not the bext through most of the match with rain comming down with the ball slipery it was frequently going to gournd but many time going backwards fo play to continue. But this did forced quite a few errors from both sides. The match started out in explosive fasion with the Latvians Vigo Valdavs making two nice breaks to run length of the field try's to take the Latvians 10-0 in the first 15 minutes. Through some hard defence and keeping the ball alive, The Latvians were able to increase that lead to 22-0 by 30 mins with try's to Jans Sveds and again to Valdavs, claming a hat-trick. In the 37th minute the Estonians were able to hit back to have some sprits lifted though Jans Sveds had something to say about that and right on half time put another try on to give the Latvians a 26-6 lead. After the break Latvia put Estonia to the sword. An early try to Estonia saw them hit 10 points but from there is was all the hosts with Valdavs scoring another 2 try's and a whole host of others also getting in amongst the score sheet. The final score was 62-10 in what was a convincing win. Tournament director Julia Bennison was extremely pleased with the tournament despite the dissapointment of the Ukranians not getting a game. But the signs are good for the development of the sport in the Baltic regions.
