Heydy hooo everyone, I am back from my talin adsventures. This must have been one of the most fun so far and interesting. All I am going to say is GO TO TALLIN. What a superb city! Absolutely unspoilt and stunning, great beer and food lots to see and do over a weekend and the women! Wow Europes best kept secret I say, They are stunning! Tried asking one of the girsls ate the hotel reception out for lunch... no dice though damn.
Anyway Rugby league.
Estonia 10-48 Latvia
THe Rugby league ground is in the middle of a horce racing track just outside the main town of Tallin. It was a bit smaller than regulation field, but if do with what you got I guess. Certainly lots of passion in both teams and they were certainly giving it all to the game and against each other. The game had a real international feel about it with a Ukranian lines man and a Serbian Referee! The standard of play was OK but certainly they are still off Euro shield, Germany would have put some distance between either team... but its wonderful seeing TGG being played out there. To see how inportnat thsi is viewed, Kevin Rudd had come out as well as a RFL representative, good to see the likes of Richard Lewis taking an interest in the international game. Post game presentations were done in the clubhouse and everyone ha d a great time. We all went out for dinner afterwards and got an estonian rugby shirt signed. Its amazing seeing John Slade get these guys up and running. He basically has League and Union going together, to try and get something else going in estonia. From talking with a few people, The Uktanians are looking like they could win this tournie, they seem to be going about things quite professionally.

As I heard, Latvians could put them far more than they did. What was the standard of refereeing of Serbian ref?

What was the standard of refereeing of Serbian ref? Harris did really well considering the physicallity of the game. I'd give him an 8/10. He did miss a few easy knock ons and one forward pass but over all he did really well to keep the boys in line and sent off a couple guys when things were starting to get heated... There was a small scuffle and Harris intervened at th right time took the right actions and all was good from there on end. Really great guy to talk to as well. He is real enthusiastic for the sport and you could see he enjoyed the trip out immensley.

Nice to read this on Haris' refereeing. He didn't exert influence on the score and that's the most important.

Yeah he was good... I think he may have let a few things go just to let the game flow on a bit. Nothing worse than a stop start game.

Mmmmm the tournament is starting to shape up real nice. Estonia and Latvia are in good preparation with a GB pioneers side giving them some warm ups on the weekend and the Ukranians apparently are a big mobile lot. I am waiting with anticipation for this!
