Sometimes optimism is better! ;D I hope that by losing those players perhaps they sign some French players, and save some money to throw at Frederik Michalak. That would be a coup for French Rugby League. Or even Sebastien Chabal! You gotta love optimism! ;D Did you not hear the romour about Chabal, Ryan? He said he wanted to come but the club decided that allthough it would be a coup, he would take a huge chunk of the salary cap, so they didnt. Wether all thats true or not I cant tell you for sure but there was sure some interest at some time.

Wether all thats true or not I cant tell you for sure but there was sure some interest at some time. That's just it, most of the RU players think that they can just stroll into RL and don;t realise that they will need time to adjust and their RU slaries just aren't worth that in RL. I would hope that any RU "convert" does it more for the challenge than trying to get extra money. Chabal with his "millions" should have been able to take a significant pay cut, particularly if they are staying in France.

I counted 27 in the 7 clubs squads i found for this year. So the average squad is about 25 players so thats about 15.5%. Add to that 11 kiwis and PI'ers thats about 21.5% of players are aussies or kiwis or PI players. The reason i only got 7 is because i have squads from 7 clubs saved on my computer andit would take me an hour to get the rest the computer i'm using.

American To Make Super League DebutWARRINGTON are set to give a debut to American-born winger Taylor Welch in tomorrow’s engage Super League game at Castleford. Aug 23 2008 by Our Correspondent, Liverpool Daily Post Wolves coach James Lowes has put the 18-year-old Texan on stand-by in case Chris Riley fails to pass the mandatory “head test” after being concussed in Sunday’s 36-34 defeat by Hull KR. Welch moved to England in 2003 and was spotted by the Wolves playing rugby union at Lymm High School in Cheshire. He joined Warrington’s academy two years ago and earned his call-up after a series of impressive performances for the under-18s. Warrington, who need a win to keep alive their hopes of a home tie in the play-offs, are definitely without veteran prop Paul Rauhihi, who misses his first match of the season with a groin injury. Meanwhile, Widnes Vikings aim to finish the regular Co-operative National League One season in fourth place with victory at Whitehaven tomorrow. Vikings are all but mathematically sure of a place in the top six shake-up but fifth will be guaranteed if coach Steve McCormack pulls off a win at his former club, “We are still not guaranteed to be in the play-offs but it’s certainly in our own hands and considering what has gone on, I am very proud of the players and what they have achieved,” he said. “It is a massive achievement. Now we are virtually in there, we have reached our goals but hopefully we will go further.”

Its easy to say that but at the end of the day if he is serious about RL he needs to think about his future, and England is the country that gave him RL

It is upto him though and TBH I'm glad he's not one of those p[layers that play for them until he's good enough for another team and jumps ship.
