Looks a pretty tight competition, well exept for USJ. Also plenty of RL for all, know how many rounds total?
Any idea what sort of crowds the games get?

In what was the probably the upset of the season, the bottom dwellers USJ stormed home to defeat the front runners LAU 30-28 with a try right on full time to Christian Nadir. This is comming from a 22-6 halftime defecite too!
This is actually LAU's third successive defeat and USJ have managed to stop histry by ending a 10 game losing streak, the longest in lebanese RL history!
In the other match, going on form AUB defeated Balamand and has jumped to second place. One point behind the front runners LAU. In what was a very convincing display AUB ran out winners 26-6.

With one round to go, its anybodies game really. With a semifinal and then final, the only thing that can gurantee AUB the title is another war... I kid you not this is what happened last year.

So last weekend saw the first of the catch up games... two games to be made up over the week as they were snowed out during the season.
Jounieh 72 - USJ 00
Wat a killing, USJ just 3 points shy of hitting the 500 points conceeded mark... with 2 games for them to play I think they'll get the distinction.

OHHHH FOR FUCKS SAKE!link hereCHAMPIONSHIP SUSPENDED DUE TO VIOLENCE Last Updated: Friday, May 09, 2008. The Lebanese championship has been disrupted in tragically similar circumstances to last season’s, with the final round of the Bank of Beirut Rugby League Championship suspended this weekend due to the worsening violence and deteriorating political situation in Lebanon. Exactly a year ago, in May, the Spring Championship was brought to a premature halt after fighting in the Nahr El Bared camp spread into north Lebanon, and now fighting in Beirut between opposition and government forces has resulted in much of the capital closing down, with Hezbollah checkpoints commanding most of the city’s roads. Two of the league’s five teams, LAU and AUB, are situated in West Beirut, with most of those clubs’ players, and a number of players from other teams, unable to move freely around the city. LAU officials this morning reported a rocket attack that had targeted the neighboring Qoreitem residence of government MP Saad Hariri, had impacted property belonging to the university, which has been closed since Wednesday. AUB coach Faysal Jaber, under lockdown in the Hamra district, has been trapped in the middle of the fighting since it began: “it’s been a hellish time, not knowing what’s going on. I’ve been watching the army just standing by letting Hezbollah take over. The streets are empty; every few minutes gunfire and RPGs start blazing.” LRLC Chief Operating Officer Danny Kazandjian stated: “Nobody knows what will happen so all we can do is hope that the fighting stops and that some semblance of normality resumes. But at the moment that doesn’t seem likely.”

Can't these assholes think of the RL for once! OK sorry bout that, not a joking matter really, right at the pointy end, so doesn't look the finals will go ahead, or will they make up the games when fighting has stopped?

They still have two games that were postponed due to snow to finiah and then the finals. So there is still like 3 weeks of matches left.
Gotta feel sorry for these guys. This happened last year and the top team was decleare the winner in the end.
