Aus Indiginous 34 NZ Maori 26
Looks like it was a great game... now why arent the Kiwis using these KIWIS instead of packing their team with players from the PIs that obviously dont really give a crap for them.

It was a great game from the stirring Haka and Aboriginal challenge at the start where the teams finished nose to nose right to the very last whistle.
Just one thing though, Tony Archer doesn't look Indigenous but he made a bloody good effort of ensuring the aussie team won. He even got in the way of the Maori defense for one of the tries.
The Maori's played with more passion and grunt than the Indigenous but just didn't have the direction in the halves and were over penalised by Archer.
If anything it looked like the Indigenous underestimated the quality of the maori team due to their inexperience and they almost paid the price. Craig Smith ran hard everytime he got the ball but while he tackled well in defense he was penalised at least 3 times for not getting up off the player quick enough (age has caught up lol).
Big games from most of the Maori forwards who certainly rattled their more experienced counterparts. Daine Laurie was made to look ordinary and eventually resorted to cheap shots that would have him suspended in the NRL (blatant swinging arms and spear tackles). Rhys Wesser was a constant threat at the back and dean Widdders had a great game despite carrying some extra weight these days.
In the end the aussies got the result they wanted for their opening ceremony and another example was shown of the awesome young talent coming through the NZ ranks especially in the front row department (mark down McKendry and Tamou as names to watch out for).

They said Craig Smith had been playing in Russia. Is this true?
