This is an important announcement that people do not need to reply to necessarily.
It concerns this months issue of Rugby League world Magazine and the article that i "supposedly" wrote.
On page 64 is an article on the round up of the game on the Italy weekend, with my name on it. It is true that I did write a article for the magazine and sent it in to the editors, the issue is that 90% of the published article does not represent what I wrote in any way.
I found the published article very negative on Italian Rugby League, and as many know that I try to be positive where I can when publishing things... I am the ever optimist... My original article only had the round up of the match, a description of when the points were scored and some quotes of people involved in the game. At no time in my original article did I write about and "Ill prepared" Italy losing to BARLA, or the fight in the warm up match where "players had to defend themselves from a viscious and outrageous bench-clearing attack" or what I find a real offensive comment of italy where there are no signs of a domestic comp... obviously who ever wrote that article forgot about their small comp last year... something I would not be glossing over. Only the last theree paragraphs resemble anything that I wrote in the article.
The relevant parties all recieved copies of the article to look over before I sent it in so I am confident they will hold no grudges to me but I have contacted them anyway to explain my position.
If the article was deemed not to be good enough to publish, then that would have been fair enough, but to literally put something different on paper and use my name just because a few of my lines were used in the end I feel is not on. It find it intruiging that there seems to be some sort of agenda against the Italians in that article.
So I hope I have cleared things up on here for anyone that read the article and took anything negative from it. This is my situation and I will see what action I will take if any. Suffice to say I am now reconsidering writing anything in the future for RLW mag.
