Really wish I was going, but unfortunately am unable to do so this year. Quite an enticing line-up however. American Samoa's participation came as quite a shock, but I'm sure they'll spice things up.
So who's going? Was anybody planning on taking a camera? Some photos and videos of the international teams in action would be awesome. Best of luck to all sides - I hope it's a great tournament.
Also, why there isn't a World Nines already is beyond me...

Hope to get a few interviews as well. Will do a full round up when I get back on the 10th.

Hopefully they can work on their domestic comps though, and be back next year.

Its interesting thjough, the schedule has only 18 teams but Tas and Terry have led me to beleive there are 21... see on the day I guess.

They nearly called it off a few years ago due to extreme heat... but with travelling sides, and international sides in particular, you would think it is quite unlikely.

Bet your wishing that this was held in a couple weeks time Dan (three I think) Manly vs Cronulla trial at shark park both teams should be at full strength in the second half. Imagine that watching 9's all day and then ducking down to see that game ;D

Imagine that watching 9's all day and then ducking down to see that game ;D Just got back from the tournament, 14 hours and 40 games... I am buggered. I will try and get a summary out soon... I was on twitter too and was giving regular updates on that. Got to meet David Peechy, Andrew Walker, Fuifui Moimoi cam out to watch so pretty goos all up. For the record Windsor won it beating Balmain 12-6 in the final. Yeah the trial would have been nice, I was at sharkies yesterday to pick up my membership mpackage though... so did my bit either way in spending lots of beer money there.

i actually left around 6pm so missed the final. had to catch the train home so prefered not to do it come nightfall given the train line it was on. the japanese are such good sportrs. i was very impressed with them. they seemed to lack confidence on the fiels, not attacking the ball much. they knew the rules though and were clearly the crowd favourites. i tipeed indigenous eustralia to take it out again, what with stars like davis peachey, kevin mcguiness and rod jenson. all in all it was a good day out. well worth the $5 entry fee. i actually got a little sunburnt sitting on the metal seats of the main stand.
did u end up going to the presentation at the leagues club dan?
