I agree with 22 weeks, but the longer the season the more dollars the game generates and the major sponsors will give. At least its not 26 rounds anymore!.
Also Asotasi is already gone too. I'm not writing the kiws off at all, Id just like to see them have all their best players available for a change. At least they'll have Luke and Smith back this time.
Went to the Broncos V Canberra game last night, with that crowd of 35,011 Rugby League in Australia surpassed its biggest ever crowd total for a season, beating the previous record which was set in 1995 when we had a 20 team comp.

Get rid of them and it cuts it down, with origin the number of games is no different. I would also go to a straight 1/4 , 1/2 and final play off... not what we have now. throw in a knock out comp at the start of the year to be included in the whole thing and I think you can make the money up no probs. I would also go to a 22 team comp, everyone plays each other once, so 21 rounds and then have a derby round the way the Brits do it... really push them with the marketing. Not rocket science.

If anybody needs a season cut-back it's SL. I heard during the Saints V Leeds game that Paul Clough was the only player to play in all of Saints 30 games so far this year. They still have to play atleast another 3 and will probably 4 or 5. That's about 6 extra games the best players are playing a year, can't help come International time.

Perhaps it would be better to set up a conference system.

Have France got any sort of warm up game for the 4 Nations? Nothing announced yet, but I have heard rumours scotland and Russia... but the second has fallen through , so not sure if they will have a second warm up. At the moment they are waiting on a ruling from the RLEF if the Aussies, Greenshields, Maguire and Mogg can qualify for France.

At the moment they are waiting on a ruling from the RLEF if the Aussies, Greenshields, Maguire and Mogg can qualify for France. It's clear they really want to represent France, and Greenshields said he saw his future there so I haven't got a problem with it. As for warm-ups I'd say they could get some easily and it wouldn't be on their priority list just yet.

Thats it ryan, there are enough nations in Competition this autum so it shouldnt be an issue for anybody to get a warm up game if they feel they need one, myself I dont see any need for one, they have played enough games as it is, as long as their training camp is tight they should be able to get combos going in training.
