I hope they play the PNG game in Perth, I really don't feel confiedent of Sydney getting a crowd despite it being their only test of the year. Perth would be able to pack out MES or get Subiaco decently occupied so that's what I would go with.

that aus v nz at eden park will more than likely be a double header with png v england before hand. i will definately fly over for that one. nz v england will probably be in wellington IMO. where to stage nz v png? beez would be a better judge of this but i would have new plymouth. nzrl has indicated theyre prioritising spreading the game to different locations in nz. i wonder if the south island will get a game..... does anyone know the last time the osuth island got a kiwis test? I think you're right about Auckland & Wellington, they will most likely have the Australia & England games. But I think there are better candidates than New Plymouth for the PNG game, the crowd was quite disappointing there last year for the All Golds v NZ Maori on a beautiful day. I would have Christchurch (who last had a test match v GB in the 2006 Tri-Nations) host the PNG game, after all they are the NZ provincial champions, & have Rotorua host a warm up match against a PI nation after the good turnout they had this year on a cold Wednesday night. An annual match there against Tonga could be a plan. So I think we'll most likely see: NZ v Tonga - Rotorua (Warm up) Eng v PNG - Auckland NZ v Aus - Auckland NZ v PNG - Christchurch NZ v Eng - Wellington But I'll leave it up to the NZRL to decide what's best, & finally I can say that with some trust that they'll make the right decisions; great to see they've finally found some management who seem to know what they're doing & have the interests of NZ rugby league in mind. & here's an article from last weeks Sunday-Star Times which brings up international U-20's matches & the possibility of NZ hosting an Anzac test again:

This how I see it could go Week 1 Australia vs England (Melbourne) PNG vs New Zealand (Townsville) Week 2 Australia vs New Zealand* (Auckland) England vs PNG *(Auckland) Week 3 England vs New Zealand (Wellington) Australia vs PNG (Port Moresby) Week 4 Final Brisbane
* Indicates double header. Eden Park will hold 60,000 by then

Thats nuts anthony, to have one whole week with no RL in Australia is suicide.
Have the NZ v PNG match in Port Moresby and the Aus v PNG one in Sydney or Townsville.

Im keen on Druziks, except I would have the ANZAC test in Brisbane. We support test footy more than anywhere in Australia and to have only one match, albeit the final, is not enough IMO. Also i would send a blockbuster to Perth, probably Aus V Eng so you could still have Aus v NZ in Auckland. I think itd be beneficial to have a big match there to really build up interest over there in the game.

the victorian events committee are the most pro active of all the states by far, followed by the QLD events committe. NSW and QLD events committees are in a feud to secure the NRL grand final when the contract with ANZ stafium and NSW events expires in 2012. this will drive the price up quite a lot because NSW will be willing to pay a hell of a lot as its not just a sports decision but a political one. who would vote for the government that lost the final of the game u love? at the end of the day whoever puts in the highest bid gets the games. its as simple as that. Perth wont put in a bid i dont think so the match will go to sydney by default

I have nothing against Sydney holding tests, its just they dont come out and support it as much as QLD, or even the VICS it could be fair to say in recent times.

Just thinking about this I forgot the England v PNG match. ANZAC Test: Sydney 4 Nations NZ vs Australia: Auckland 4 Nations NZ v England: Wellington4 Nations PNG v NZ: Port Moresby4 Nations Australia v England: Melbourne 4 Nations Australia v PNG: Canberra 4 Nations England v PNG: Perth4 Nations Final: Brisbane Why would you have PNG v Eng in Perth instead of Port Moresby? & NZ v PNG needs to be in NZ. Other than the Warriors playing only in Auckland, NZ sees no rugby league of decent quality & this is after winning the world cup. I may be biased in my opinion but we need to maximise the games here. NZ should, & most likely will, have all three of their round robin matches at home. If Eden Park is ready & available to host a double header then it should be done, Aucklanders/NZers will be excited about the new stadium & it's a great chance for league to get one over union for the opening. It looks as though PNG will not have any home games anyway from what I've heard. Why are people trying to push into areas such as PNG & Perth when haven't even sorted NZ (the world champs).

this is true. the warriors started the season as the most watched auckalnd sporting team outdoing the auckland blues super 14 team. this is amazing! the warriors started to decline in the results thus there was a decline in viewership. frustrating as hell on the back of the world cup victory (then again so was nzrl's reluctance to take advantage of that world cup win).
i think we'd all like to see each city host a game involving two out of the big three but thus is the nature of our international game that with only 3 high drawing teams the clashes are very few and need to be used to generate revenue for the RLIF. its a catch 22 situation. the best way to expand is to give potential markets high profile matches but the main way to earn revenue is to have these high profile matches in citites with a viable league following. i guess we have to wait until someone like france steps up to make it four etc.... creating more high profile games to spread across cities

Interesting that a lot of people feel a game of 4nations magnitude can be held in Port Moresby. I have family who live in Oz and one member was recently in PNG and was staying in a complex in the capital. He went for a run around the complex and upon returning to the hotel, was met with a very worried member of staff who thought he had left the complex and ventured into the city.
Apparently, PM is very dangerous for white people - anyone know how true this is?

Its very true, But the point about having it in PM, is that you have fanatical locals and the fact that Australia have annual matches there with no issues and tha Pac Nations Cup was there with no hitches then shows that a game could be played there. Look By all accounts it wont happen. Hamiltonh will get the NZ v PNG match and Sydney the Aus v PNG match.

to say that the last PNG V AUS game to be staged in nth queensland (RLWC08) want exacly threatning a sellout is an understatement. i think a larger crowd would be achieved in Sydney. 20,000 turned out to see aus v fiji. that should be the target for aus v png. where to hold it though? SFS will be the most likely venue. could push to sell out parra though....
