You havent herad???
Next year the USA is going full pro. I think average contracts are looking at US$130,000 or something.
They are taking a similar way of doing things that the US soccer organisation does. You have a central organisation that raises money by seeling franchises and advertising. Profits to the clubs then come through the central organistaion, so its upto clubs to not only promote their own games but the whole sport in general to increase profits so that they can also get a larger slice of the profits.
So hopefully in 5 years this will be up there at least with the LER or beyond in terms of quality, koney and exposure.
Hopefuly the Yanks can do a better job and get a third pro comp up...

No... from what Davin Niu is saying, is that they are not targetting any specific players, each year there will be a trial period for new players to come in and then they go into a draft that the teams will bid for the players or something. Their idea is not to comepet with the NRL or ESL in terms of money... welll I guess not yet... but will not turn down any top player who wants to have a go. I would say the fringe players in the NSW/QLD cup and Buny red cup would be tempted to have a shot at this though, and maybe some of the Championship 1 players from england. if the US$130,000 is correct then that would be very competitive to the Championship 1 teams and also the French LER, so there catually could be a very good cross mix of players from all these 4 natiosn who would be playing in the comps. As it stands there are 4 Americans who are playing pro and semi pro in the NSW lower divisions at Toukley RLFC and will be heading back next year, so should be intersting if they make the cut. If we can have a LER standard comp... in skill i.e. ... then it would be great. If things also come off in Russia this year and next we would have 5 pro semi/pro comps around the world.

You really should buy rugby league review magazine, its pretty good for international rl... I sometimes write articles in there too.

TBH guys if the comp is to be "professional" then it HAS to recruit at least players of SL/NRL squad quality, otherwise its not going to be a professional standard of competition.
Ultimatley their organisation has the potential but at the end of the day if its just amateur players like the kind of guys in the US league at the moment then its not going to be a good comp.
IMO the leagues organisers should sign maybe 20-30 players from the RL world (NZ,Aus,UK,Fra) at various levels and draft those guys to the local players and youngsters who will/should make up the bulk of the squad.
