I'd say afternoon games on a Saturday are maybe the way to go.
Just saw on TV...The NRL has turned down the idea of the Sharks playing five games on the CC.

But news ltd doesnt allow sat afternoon games, look it iused to be that all games were on a sat and sun afternoon, its whne crowds were big, but when TV took over they brought in these silly times. They have done more harm than good to the sport, look at AFL they still have a majority of day games on staurdays and sundays no... and still have a big TV deal... why cant RL? If this is the NRLs underhanded way of "killing off and relocating" sydney clubs then is stinks and every single RL clus ion sydnery should be fearful. Get rid of the sharks and it will be a disater for the sport in the country. Iused to be a Gallop fan, but now I think he is the devil in disguise.

No doubt his loyalties lie with News. When is his contract up??? If he is negotiating the next TV contract most likely we will get the shit end of the stick again.

I still like Gallop,
I think from what hes had hes done a tremendous job overall. From where we were when he first took over years ago to now, I think hes done a great job. Now, I hated super league when it came and split the game in half, but I personally dont think Gallop would be swayed these days by the fact he was a lawyer for News limited back then.
The reason why he is reluctant to accept any team going half move into Central Coast is because all along, from day one they have said that a team needs to fully move there in order for the public to embrace it fully on the Central Coast, and I couldnt agree more. You cant have the Sharks, or any team going there for half the home games and expect them Central Coast fans to be content with that. They want their own team. And theyre not just singleing out the Sharks here, its across the board.
Lets not forget in 1995 when Ken Arthurson and John Quayle were running the game in Australia, they were quite happy to see the game go to a 20 team comp, and let the weak teams go broke, and let the market demand show where the teams are being supported.
The sharks in 2002 averaged 16500K per game, last year they averaged just under 13000k per game, this year its 9k. Same cold weather, but the teams not winning. From what Tony Zappia has been saying, they were budgeting for 13k average again this year and it simply hasnt happened. The people in Cronulla know their teams in the shit. If theyre truly passionate about their team, cold weather or not, they will support them.

As far as I'm concerned if Gallop takes anything below 750 million for the rights of the next TV deal it's time to go.

www.leaguehq.com.au/news/lhqnews/nrl-splits-assets-in-search-of-tv-gold/2009/06/05/1243708627215.htmlthis is one of the best decisions the NRL have made in a long time. Idealy you would have State of Origin going to channel 7 for around $50 million over 5 years with nine taking the NRL and test. who knows , maybe you will have all three networks taking a piece of the pie with ONE HD making a bid or two. this would increase exposure big time. i agree though, a combined total of less than $750 million would be abysmal. they need to stop under capitalising themselves and realise they are worth just as much as the arragant AFL. In other news Zappia's gone! where to now for the sharks?

Did you get a supporter's name jersey Dan? When I get a bit more cash I will, Jerseys are sooo expensive these days, but it looks nice. They had a mock up one at the Leagues club and it looked cool. I got the interstate package so it got me a t-shirt, cap, bunch of keyring things and stickers and a ticket to rd6 against Brisbane at Suncorp stadium... joined the leagues club as well, so all bases now covered.

Tell me about it in regards to the jerseys. Probably only going to get the retro jersey this year from Manly. Funny thing is I order and got a Bradford one not only was it cheaper but actually got to personlize it as well. Also got a interstate package. Will be joining the leagues club at New Zealand of all places ;D
