I drove down the Goldy on Saturday morning and watched Wales v France and Ireland v New Zealand .
Wales looked the goods against France who didn't have a good day . I talk with the Welsh boys a lot and actually assisted their coach on the sidelines .
Was a real buzz .
Ireland had plenty of heart but the Kiwis just kept coming.
From here I drove to Brissie and took in Australia v Greece and Scotland V England .
Australia flogged Greece but I actually thought Greece were an ok side .
And Scotland too had plenty of heart but England too much experience.
This game has to be promoted more in the UK.
The Irish , Scottish and Welsh in particular play with so much heart and these countries are well suited to rugby league .
Most of the guys I spoke to were natives of their country but a lot of Aussie accents from the Greek side.
Cannot understand why there is no PNG, Fiji,Samoa and Tonga in the Uni world cup.
They have competed in past cups .
Will try and get to the plate and cup semis on Tuesday and Wednesday night .

Greece did look a decent side from what i saw. Problem was they got very little ball and played like a beaten team most of the game. Early on the game was tight but Australia blew out the scoreline after half time.
I liked the ground and I guess there were about 500 people at the game but there were signifiactly less after Australia finished. I was suprised at the amount of greeks there TBH.

The silly thing about it was that at the games down the coast it was $ 8 to get in and there would have been lucky to be 100 people. The games were on at 11 am and 1 pm. Too early. Would have got a much bigger crowd if they played them at 5 pm and 7 pm.
They also had the British community Lions v Jim Beam Cup reps but I left as they were kicking off.
Then in Brisbane at Langlands park there is a good crowd and admission is free .I guess a lot of the crowd was still there from the Easts QLD Cup match .

I was suprised entry was free TBH, It could have been atleast $1 or $2 and it probably would have made $500 or so. Also suprised wales flogged France. I said earlier it would a cracking game, I didn't expect Wales to smash them. Still, well done wales, my brother will most likely be heading off to the semi so he must have been impressed.

Went to the uni tonight to watch the cup semis .
England D New Zealand approx . 32 - 18
Australia D Wales approx 28 - 10
Didn't pay a hell of a lot of attention to the scores .
Wales troubled Australia quite a bit and could have caused an upset but for too many errors and ill discipline .
England and New Zealand would in my opinion be the game of the Cup to date .
So England and Australia in the Cup final.
Wales and NZ play off for 3rd .
