Domestic seasons are slowoly winding down and we have now 13/14 european teams that will be involved in IRL matches over the next 3-4 months.
Bloody fantastic!

You have the advantage of being able to see alot of them though . Atleast I'll most probably see 7 teams at the WC this year. ;D Could always be more. Just while on International RL, does anyone else think our 6 nations in america looks similar to the RU Pacific Champs this year? Only they don't have PNG and USA. Hopefully when there is more $ available it can be like the RU in that all countries get a home game.

Actually between the two of us and a few others I think we will pretty much see 60% of all international teams!

Providing 1st in Pool A beats the SFQ. How many are you going to see, germany, italy, czechs, serbia, russia, estonia, latvia? who else?

Do they show any European league on TV over there?
They're not even showing the England v France game over here in NZ.
I'll be seeing every team except PNG and Scotland at the WC (unless they make it to the semis). Although I'm trying to get a cheap flight to the Gold Coast for the NZ v PNG game - and if that happens then I may just go to the Scotland v Fiji game instead of Ireland v Samoa so I see every team.

That is impressive. I hear many fans are doing that just doing massive road trips to see games. You should enjoy PNG, when not jetlagged they can put on a show. They pushed france all the way last year. I watched the Scotland wales game on TV last year and it was a cracker. If scotland are on song then they can be quite exiting to watch as well. The PI teams, in particular Fiji, I think will be real excitement packages.

So The french test is going out on Sport+ and Sky i think, if Eurosport will pick that up at any point remains to be seen.
I have spoken to people and countries like germany are interested in picking up the RL, but basically they have no "commentators" that speak german and know enough about the game to put them on TV.... a cheap cop out in my eyes really.
That is sooooooo frustrating that none of the aussie networks pick up the game. And you wonder who so many fans down under have such a bad view of the International game.
RU just flogs these games like dead horses and people swallow them... why we can't do the same is beyond me!

SkyTV NZ shows all the English Super League games which are shown on Sky Sports in the UK and showed the RLWC qualifiers last year but I received an email from them today saying they didn't have the rights for the England v France game which I just can't understand.

I'm actually hardly doing a road trip, just staying in Sydney for most of the games around this region and going up to Newcastle for the NZ v England game. Then flying up to Brisbane for the semi and final. So all up I'll see 8, maybe 10 games. Plus hopefully the NZ Maori have a game or two.

either way that is good work, and from everyuthing I have read on here and other forums looks like the WC is getting popular and will have excellent crowds (well I think compared to 2000 anything will be excellent )

I was looking at tickets today as my mate in Aussie screwed it up somehow (he got two lots of tickets to the final and none to the semi) but single tickets only for Brisbane but Sydney I could still get excellent tickets.
So once again interest maybe a bit low in Sydney. It would be disappointing if they don't sell out most games - it's $10 for some of them. I paid about $250 for the 8 games I've got so far.

That is pretty good value actually... well done.
Look everyone banging on about no interest in sydney is BS, its there.
But remember that things like Soo and test are played in that black hole that is Olympic stadium.
The test got 37,000.... now stick that in a purpose built RL stadium like say the SFS which holds 40,000 and you have a spectacular atmosphere. As it is the SCG was basically sold out.
Remember that sydney fans are used to walk up tickets... many do that because its hard sometimes with transport to get to games. Once the rep season is over expect sales to pick up.
