Thanks that would be nive just to have Poland v anyone in RL one day. Who knows. But I just do what I can. At the moment being effectively inbetween jobs an not knowing where I will be in a few months is hard for me to get more involved, but if I get the Culham job then I'll be able to really get into the POlsh RL side of things with Eric. The big question... willl you be playing? ;D Dont think so mate, I am sure we could find 17 much more competetnt players than me out there... but you never know... 1 5 min cameo in there somewhere with the winning try would be great But I doubt it, I'll be in the admin if anything.

The 1st seeds may have been sewn on the weekend.
OK so I was at my cousins in Starachowice, having a chat and a beer on her Balcony... and I see in the park across the road, people training rugby!
So out of curiosity I go down, and sure enough, a Rugby club had set up in the last three months and is led by three Union players and one was an ex Polish rep.
The President Rafal Gajewski is a big fan of league though! We got chatting and before I knew it I was playing a game! Anyway 5 tries later the others were asking where I learnt to play... explained the whole shebang etc...
Basically Rafal is interested in giving TGG a go, I am in contact with him now and he will be checking the webiste out.
He has asked if I can get him a set of jerseys for the team and if I do he has promised to play XIII !
So anyone know anything how I can secure the jerseys... please help!

Look at some Aussie clubs and stuff, some of them would probably gladly send over old jerseys they have.

Yep, will try that definitely... also am going to hit up some people in the RFL and RLEF to see if anything can be done and some other australian contacts when home. [glow=red,2,300]OK[/glow] Next step is done, I have got an initial webiste for Polska Rugby XIII up and running through my regular webiste. www.danielandruczyk.com/PolskaRugbyXIII/hehehe.... dont worry there is a link to an english translated version www.danielandruczyk.com/PolskaRugbyXIII/en/Its simple, but nothing too fancy has to be done yet.

I've set up a facebook group... seems like the best plave to co-ordinate and invite international players. I know of at least 2 Exeter Uni players who are qualified, and a prop at East Devon Eagles. Developing a Polish side could be great for RL development generally... there's lots of athletic blokes in the UK who might be persuaded to try the sport, and that can filter back into clubs. Anyway, here's the group... www.facebook.com/groups/edit.php?members&gid=112627803172#/group.php?gid=112627803172

a snippet from rugby league review magazine (www.rugbyleaguereview.com) this month involving our druzik:
POLAND NEXT FOR RUGBY LEAGUE In the last 5 years rugby league in europe has flourished. in a large part thanks to the RLEF and also the dedication of many volunteers in each country. Where it was just the UK and France in the past, now we see RL being played from the heart of Russia to Portugal, from Prague to Rhodes. As you follow the road map there is one visible gaping hole in Europe.... Poland But alas, it seems that a group of dedicated young people have taken it upon themselves to rectify this matter. In the last year a couple of people encouraged by the RLEF's Kevin Rudd have slowly been formulating a way to get Poland involved in RL. It seems there will be a three pronged attack to develope RL in Poland. It will involve using home grown talent as well as heritage players (commonly known as the Polania) in the UK , France and Australia. The driving forces behind Poland RugbyXIII are Daniel Andruczyk in Australia and in Europe Joe Catchside, both of whom have very strong links back to Poland. Indeed Daniel , despite being born and raised in Australia is fluent in the language and has recently moved from a three year stint in Europe where he travelled Poland extensively and was also involved with many of the European RL nations. It was about a year ago that Daniel , pushed by Rudd, started to get the idea of Polish RL out into the league community. The aims of Polska Rugby XIII is to have local teams compete in nines and sevens tournaments and then come together to play in full 13's games. In the UK and Australia these would be development games and not full internationals in the real sense, but they would be named after some of Poland's great heroes or well known people in those countries, for example the Kosciuszko team or the Joseph Konrad team. Polish people tend to be very nationalistic and proud of their nation and that it has survived so much over the last 1000 years, so playing into that physche is more important. Eventually , its hoped to get a two or three match tour of Poland to take place to spur the locals into taking up the game. Poland has produced many RL players. In the UK Chris Radlinski is well known to most recentrly Jaroslow (Jerry) Obuchowski has been playing for the London Skollars in the Championship One. It is hoped that these players and ex-players will be able to help out Poland in some capacity.
